From Wikipedia: The channel had been available from launch on UPC Ireland, but was pulled on 22 March 2006. The channel had already been and remains available to Irish viewers on free-to-air satellite for some time, however it has not been listed in the Sky electronic programme guide since its removal on 25 January 2006. ITV3 took its channel number and bandwidth meaning all platforms could be launched simultaneously. - en.wikipedia.org read more about ITV3 +1 on wikipedia (summary by Clipped).

Sue Hindson: ITV3 +1 is only available on Freeview because ITV have some spare broadcast capacity available after CITV closes for the evening. Like a number of other +1 channels, it's primarily there to reserve the channel number.

ITV3+1 is listed as Ch 58 above, as it is on Freeview. However, on my TV Ch 58 is shown as ITVBe+1. As far as I am aware I have the TV set up correctly. (I live in the Heathfield transmitter area). Puzzled; are you able to help?

Richard Dodd:
Whilst some listings on this site are not up-to-date, this one is, and you've also checked on Freeview's site.
When was the last time you retuned your TV?
It could be that even if you have retuned very recently, your set's memory has not stored the information correctly and needs clearing.
Unplug the aerial and carry out a full automatic retune, this should clear memory as nothing is found.
Plug the aerial back in and repeat the retune which will hopefully restore all channels correctly.
If for some reason that hasn't worked, try repeating the process BUT switch the set off for 15 minutes after retuning with the aerial unplugged.

Toto: I assume that you are referring to ITV3 +1 on Freeview, where it shares capacity with CITV channel, meaning that only one of the two channels can be broadcast at a time. CITV broadcasts until 9pm each evening and there is no spare capacity available any earlier, which is why ITV3 +1 is only on air from 9pm each evening.

I think this ITV3+1 shortcoming to facilitate children's TV is short changing free view customers.

Richard Cooke : How is anyone being short changed when you aren't paying anything to watch either CITV, ITV3 +1 or indeed any of ITV's channels? Clearly ITV think that giving more hours to the CITV channel is better commercially.

Hilary Colbourn:
That's a very good question because I can't find any information about the change at present.
ITV3+1, ITV4+1, and ITVBe+1 all share space on the same multiplex and they all seem to have changed to much reduced hours, and my usual source of information has not been updated!
ITVBe+1 is now back at 2am with 2hrs of Teleshopping!
ITV3+! is now back at 4am, maybe with Teleshopping as the EPG doesn't appear to be updated!
ITV4+1 is back at 6am with Teleshopping as well it seems, but again EPG not updated!
Who is now using the rest of the space on the multiplex is also a good question.
Hopefully we'll be able to dig up some information soon!
