Today's Guardian ( Freeview channel to be auctioned off - Media - ) reports that Arqiva are going to squeeze another TV channel onto Freeview multiplex C.

With Freeview now in 16.7m of UK homes, this will mean an additional channel choice for one lucky broadcaster - with deep pockets. The last slot cost Channel 4 10m a year to rent.

Arquiva, the multiplex operator is asking for bids by October 22, with the TV channel available from January.

This is in addition to the SDN slot that will also be aviliable from January 1.
