John: I don't know about Freesat, but RT will be broadcast from Brougher Mountain,
Black Mountain and Carnmoney Hill at lower power than the other services. According to Digital UK, Divis will not carry these services.
See here for the recently published Installer Newsletter from Digital UK on the subject of the switchover in Northern Ireland:
http://www.digitaluk.co.u….pdf
Quote from that leaflet:
The Good Friday Agreement and February 2010 Memorandum of Understanding between the UK and Ireland Governments included provision for ensuring that TG4 , RT 1 and RT 2 standard definition services are made available to much of Northern Ireland . In part this will be achieved via a seventh, low-power, TV multiplex (mux), operating from the Brougher Mountain, Black Mountain and Carnmoney Hill transmitters and using the DVB-T2 standard to maximise coverage. While all three services will be standard definition only, a Freeview HD receiver will be required to watch them. The timing for the launch of these services is still to be confirmed.

jonathan mellor: When you mention "Freeview" channels, are you meaning that you have a Freeview aerial plugged into the Sky boxes "aerial input" socket to pass the signal from the aerial through the Sky box and onto Freeview receivers in other rooms?
Or is it that you are referring to Sky "free to view" channels being viewed elsewhere via the Sky boxes analogue RF modulator?
If its the latter, then did you set the RF modulators output channel to what was being previously used, it being assumed that when you mentioned setting the RF output to "on" its because you have magic eyes on the TV's in other rooms?

Banbury
After all the hype about the advantages of digital TV, it's disappointing to find that some channels on Freeview are not available in the Banbury area. Is it likely that these (Film4, Dave etc) will become available or will we always be left short?

Garth Prosser: If you're on the Bretch Hill transmitter, then no, they won't ever be available. See here:

The predictor suggests that reception from Oxford *might* be possible in your post code. Whether it will be at your exact location is another matter, but if you are to look at getting these extra channels, then that would appear to your only option (on terrestrial television).
The transmission power is low from Oxford and will be so until April, so I wouldn't do anything until then.

I think I just need a good moan. I get my signal from the Storeton transmitter on the Wirral and, today, all the channels on one mux have gone (listed on the transmitter page as MUX COM4 SDN.
There's something trying to get through as, every few minutes,a bit of the picture comes onto the screen and then goes off.
Looking at the signal strength. it's zero with an odd burst of around 30% (momentarily only - more like a pulse).
Only started today and usually reception is fine.
BBC reports no problem with the transmitter as done the page for the transmitter!
As I have both a digibox (connected via a DVD recorder) and a Digital TV, I retuned the TV and now there's no EPG for the channels on that MUX and the channels numbers have been omitted.
It would happen on the last episode of Frost on ITV3 wouldn't it!!!
We had some high winds overnight but why should that only affect one MUX?
All channels from all the other MUXs are fine. Good signal, good quality.
Nothing much I can do I suppose.
A second analogue set with it's own aerial pointing at Winter Hill picks them up fine so obviously the problem is with the Storeton transmitter and that particular MUX strength/signal.
Writing this in case anyone else is tearing their hair out and fiddling with the boxes although if anyone knows what the problem is with Storeton and if/when it will be cleared, I'd be obliged if they could tell me (before I go out and get my aerial moved to Winter Hill).
Thanks.

I am in Warsaw Poland now and will work here for several years. I would like to be able to continue to enjoy BBC 1,2,itv... and other UK channels, but the cable TV seems cannot provide that. How can I get that? thanks.

Wenbo - The only way you will get satisfactory reception in Warsaw, will be by installing a large 2.1 metre Satellite dish. Coupled to an FTA (free to air) receiver, Reception in Western Poland is a bit better and it's possible with a 1.5 - 1.8 metre.
