Briantist: I assume they will be broadcast in HD at the same time on BBC One HD, for all the viewers who don't have a 3D ready television.

Briantist, NottsUK: The BBC's blog about it at BBC - BBC Internet Blog: Gearing up to deliver Wimbledon 3D says that it will be on BBC HD on all platforms - Freesat, Sky*, Freeview and Virgin Media.

* of course Sky and Freesat actually use the same transmissions.

Switch over today (Glasgow, using Black Hill). BBC1, BBC2, News24, and a few others (all on mux 1 I believe) were gone. So far I have tried the following in order to get them back:

- Re-scanning -> did find them.
- Factory reset which initiated automatic re-scanning. All channels were found apart from the above.

Box is an old Philips DTR1500. Signal shows 50% strength, 100% quality. Aerial is a year old - SR18E from blake-uk.com. Using a cheapish signal booster as reception is quite poor otherwise.

Any suggestions as to how to proceed?

j_cocker: You may have too much signal. Remove or turn down the booster. If you provide a full postcode we can see what the prediction is for you, and the likely signal levels.

If that doesn't help, I would suggest using the procedure 'Restore virgin mode' from page 31 of the manual https://ukfree.tv/retune/Philips_DTR1500-05.pdf

Thanks Mike.

- Removed the booster - signal level dropped from 50 to 40%, but quality still 100%.
- Did a 'Restore virgin mode', and again the BBC1/2, etc are missing. All other channels are OK. BTW, this is the procedure that I followed before when I referred to Factory reset.

My post code is G62 7LA.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks again.

My pre-freeview, but HD digital TV, used to receive Freeview channels through a Curtis set top box without problem. Being in the Scotland Central area (Craigkelly Tx) I know I'm between switchover dates but I'm getting some strange effects. Rescanning the digibox, clears then finds all channels as per normal. On completion of the scan, it then finds BBC 1 itself. No problem - so far. The box then reports that it's found x new channels and deleted none and waits for me to press OK. On pressing OK it then reports that it's found a new service and then reports "No Signal". This is true for BBC 1,2 3 and 4. STV and most of the other Freeview channels it's found (that I've tried) all seem OK. Is it the box or must I wait until 15/22 June?

David Kennedy: Looking at the Curtis International website, I found the manuals for both set-top boxes they manufactured, the DVB102UK and DVB203UK. Both say that they support the 8K mode that the BBC services now use, and all the other services will use after stage 2 next week.

However, it could be one of the boxes that has trouble with some multiplexes in one mode and some in another. In this case, you may find it starts working after next Wednesday's retune.

Make sure you're doing a First-Time Setup, using the procedure on page 20 of the DVB102UK manual. Some boxes get confused when they have previously had a full set of services.
