My name is Will and I am working with Eden Channel who from Monday 18th July will be showing the "Beauties and Beasties" season featuring jaw-dropping images, the most authoritative guides and the most breathtaking animal, natural and physical wonders.

‪Are your friends and family Beauties or Beasties?‬‏

I was looking through your the blog, and thought that you'd be interested in checking it out.

The programmes are extremely wide ranging, including well-known series such as Life in Cold Blood and Last Chance to See as well as numerous one-offs and specials like Knut and Ant Attack. Beauties to Beasties also contains two channel premieres from the BBC archive – Dolphins of Shark Bay and Sea Otter: A Million Dollar Baby.

From 18th July

From 25th July
Dangerous week

From 1st August
Beauties week

From 8th August
Cuddly and cute week

As part of the series they have created this fun Facebook app which let's you pick which of your friends and family are cute, beautiful, creepy or dangerous at Incompatible browser | Facebook which can then be shared - feel free to give it a go yourself!

Thanks,

Will

Bryan Patterson: If you have any normal radio receivers (AM/FM/DAB) to hand switch them on just before 7pm and note if any form of interference comes through them as well, this to help determine if the problem is only being picked up via the LNB or not.

Mains born interference could also be responsible, this possibly from something within the household that works from a timer switch, so an AM radio (preferably set on LW) placed near to a power socket would also be a good test.

If non of these tests help suss out the cause of the problem, you could always ask any neighbour with a satellite system (not necessarily Freesat) if they experience anything happening at the time in question.

ron: Not sure exactly what you are meaning, as HD is already receivable via Sky dishes irrespective of whether or not they are used with a Sky or Freesat box, although Sky offers more of a selection of HD channels, at a price though!

stuart: You may well want to use your old Sky box as a form of Freesat device, but you will not be able to use a Freesat EPG as that is dedicated to Freesat branded boxes, your old Sky box operating as though it was still on Sky, you should though reset the box by removing the mains plug for about 15 seconds or so, then reconnect and let it go through the usual "searching for listings" procedure, there isn't anything else you can really do.

Your old Sky box should work without a card, as the card is only required to enable you to view the correct news services for your area, plus some channels such as 5*, the card is also required for some ITV areas that are encrypted, and as such will not be viewable without a card installed.

chris: If all you have done is take the Sky box complete with card from one house to another and connect it to the wires already in your apartment, then the only thing that could be wrong is that the dish isnt aligned properly.

On your Sky remote control press Services - 4 then 6 and check what the signal and quality bars are showing, they should be about the same level as each other and taking up around 75% (or more) of the scale.

Watching the Tennis & Golf on Freeview via the BBC RED BUUTON (Channel 301) recently the picture is nowhere near as good as BBC ONE or BBC TWO FREEVIEW, even when they are showing exactly the same match / golf player at the same time (give or take a second it being digital). It is still better than ITV Sport's though.

This is the same from both the WINTER HILL (Freeview) and MOEL-Y-PARC (Freeview) transmitters.

Does the RED BUTTON channel have a reduced bit rate on Freview compared with the main BBC channels, if so is this the same on BBC via FREESAT or even BBC from SKY, OR is it that long used excuse a "CAPACITY ISSUE". As you are aware we lost one RED BUTTON Freeview channel around the time of final switchover to make way for the three (now four) HD services on Freeview. I tried asking BBC INFORMATION but as you know they will not put you though to anyone with a significant level of knowledge and operators become almost rude after less than a minute of either making up the first thing that comes into their head or asking you to write in. So much for the improvement in BBC complaints MR PATTON ?

I imagine the BBC RED BUTTON picture is perfect on SKY !!!!
