From Arqiva's press office:

Arqiva confirms that the Digital Switch Over process for the Sandy Heath transmitter group, serving Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire, has been completed successfully.

The three public-service multiplexes are being transmitted at high power from the main station at Sandy Heath and, for the first time, from three dependent relays at Dallington Park, Kimpton and Luton. The non-PSB multiplexes at Sandy Heath will move to their final post-DSO powers, channels and transmission modes at later dates.

Following switch-off of the BBC Two analogue signal on 30 March, the remaining analogue signals for BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 ceased by 00:01 on Wednesday 13 April. The new digital signals entered official service at Sandy Heath at 05:50, with the relays completed by 08:38.

Mark A.: I would have thought that there is a certain amount of pride in people's work, and logging the exact time is part of that. I know I would have done the same.

I have just bought a Goodmans Freeview HD set top box thinking I would get the HD channels. However after scanning several times no HD channels show in the EPG. I get signals from the Sandy Heath transmitter, and the coverage checker suggests I should be able to get HD. In standard definition the signal strength shows 100%. Can anyone help? Hi again I was struggling to identify my Ariel even though I had the box the bit with the band type had been torn off with wrapping tape,I looked on antiferance site and found that the lengths varied with type, so with the ladder and tape rule I could have found out.I had brought it cheap from cash convertors as it looked well made (square and round tube and bolted) unlike the thin flat elements and plastic clip-on dipole one that it replaced that had been bent by birds or the wind.

I live just north of Harlow Essex and according to Reception checkers I should receive transmissions From Sandy Heath.Four years ago I set up an external wideband aerial pointed to Sandy Heath and since then and using signal boosters have been receiving multiplex channel C consistantly and multiplex channel 1 (BBC) of varying quality.Since the recent Sandy Heath switchover there has been no improvement to my reception and no increase in channels other than for about 1 hour on stage 2 switchover date at about 08:30am when I received multiplex's 1,A, and C perfectly.
Although my aerial is pointing towards Sandy Heath, could I be receiving transmission from London Crystal Palace.
To align my aerial to receive London Transmissions would mean moving round from a NW to a South direction. Is it possible for my aerial to pick up that signal when it is currently not pointing that way?
