Channel 4 HD is on Freesat EPG - at last!
Almost three years after the launch of Freesat, Channel 4's high definition channel has finally appeared in the electronic programme guide of the free-to-air satellite service.
The service can now be found at position 126.
This now means you can watch the same four HD services on Freeview HD and Freesat HD: BBC One HD, ITV1 HD, Channel 4 HD and BBC HD.

Hi all,
can anyone help me with the full tech details of the EPG transponder.
Frequency
Polarity
FEC
PID
SID
I have a TechniSat HDFS box and the EPG is knackered, I need to manually set all the above by hand as the default transponder for the EPG is set to Astra 1.
Cheers.

Wolfman: There isn't an "EPG transponder" as such. Sky does have one, but it is only compatible with their own boxes, not generic receivers. The Freesat EPG is free to air and is carried on all transponders that have a Freesat service.

Hi Briantist,
I have a Technisat HDFS receiver and the default EPG settings are for Astra 1 due to an oversight (I assume) by someone at TS, It has a separate EPG function and without it; I only get up to about 7 hrs EPG instead of the advertised 8 days!!.
Thanks.

Brian: sorry the dumb annoying one again here! If I manually add non freesat channels, is there anyway I can get programme info on the EPG? or is it because they are non freesat channels then freesat doesnt recognise them?
Thanks in advance Brian!

Gareth Smart: You are right, if they are not in the EPG, you don't get an EPG...

Briantist, your information regarding Freesat EPG being FTA and carried on all transponders is a little misleading, only the now and next which is standard DVB is on each transponder. The seven day Freesat EPG uses the MHEG5 data on transponder C5 11.426H. Its the MHEG5 middleware which makes the Freesat recievers different from non-generic FTA receivers.

I have until recently had very good freeview coverage . Over the past two weeks the signal has gone from good to bad then non-existant then back again. Today nothing at all. I have run the "install from factory settings" on my two TV's and nothing. Analouge is OK. I am pointing at Hannington with a booster also installed. The aerial is 3 year old. Any guidance or inforamtion appreciated.
