West central Scotland switchovers start 11th May 2011
The final weeks for analogue television in Scotland commences today, with the first step of switchover for two transmitter groups in West Scotland.
From today you will need to retune your Freeview box if you use the Darvel or Rosneath transmitter. You MAY find that some very old equipment will no longer work - TVs and boxes that do not support the 8k-mode.
If you use the Ardentinny, Ardnadam, Arrochar, Ayr South, Blackwaterfoot, Bowmore, Campbeltown, Carradale, Catrine, Claonaig, Dunure, Garelochhead, Girvan, High Keil, Holmhead, Kirkconnel, Kirkmichael, Kirkoswald VP, Lethanhill, Lochgoilhead, Lochwinnoch, Millburn Muir, Muirkirk, New Cumnock, Port Ellen, Portnahaven, Sorn, Troon, Wanlockhead relay transmitters, you will no longer be able to watch BBC TWO on analogue from today, but you should be able now to use a Freeview box or TV set to watch ALL BBC services (apart from the two HD channels).
In two weeks time, on Wednesday 25th May 2011, the final switchover step will see the closure of all analogue services and the introduction of high power full Freeview for Darvel and Rosneath viewers, Freeview Light from all relay transmitters, plus the start of the Freeview HD service BBC One HD, BBC HD, STV and Channel 4 HD) on all the above transmitters.

Glasgow
I'm in Glasgow and I'm getting nothing since I re-scanned my box Humax PVR! Even QVC would be a blessing! I don't have anything, this happened the last time we had to re-tune and it took 3 days to get any channels but it doesn't look like this will improve anytime soon. My ariel is an indoor one with a signal booster, signal strength is 100% but the channel signal constantly fluctuates. I also have a roof ariel but it's worse!!!!!!
Can anyone tell me if they will improve this???

jan: Can I ask which Humax PVR you have? Some have problems during switchover due to the mixture of "2k" and "8k" modes. See TVs and boxes that do not support the 8k-mode | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Since last week's changeover, I have had a very disrupted service. Commercial and some freeview channels lost till after 5pm.
I have a Sony integrated freeview Tv and a digital aerial, both only 4 years old.
Today, I had all channels available till about 11am, then lost 40, which have not reappeared. All week I have done several manual tunings, and regained service.
What is happening, and how long will it take to rectify this?

You might have to wait until the switchover is complete on Wednesday 25th May 2011 for things to stabilise.

Cupar
I live only 0.5km from the Cupar transmitter but find the reception for my portable DAB radio poor and variable in a 150 metre wide radius from my home . Why is this? Also, why is the FREEVIEW signal strength in Cupar after full digital switchover not considerably greater than planned if I live so close to the transmitter?

David Wilson: Cupar is not a DAB transmitter, so you are depending on service from Angus or Kirkton Mailer.
You are shown to have fulley stable Freeview reception after switchover.
