Minor changes to commercial multiplexes at 11 masts this week

There are no "major" digital switchover events this week; however a small number of minor technical changes may require a Freeview retune for some homes this week.

There are going to be some minor changes to the "forward error correction" parameter of some of the commercial multiplexes this week, the assist with reception improvements.

Under most circumstances your Freeview box should work with no changes, you may just see the "If you find you are missing channels, please re-tune your Freeview TV or box" message.

If you do find that the commercial multiplexes no longer work as you expected, on the dates shown, then perform a "first time installation" to restore the channels.

we have had no analogue tv at all for over 2 weeks. we are "served" by heathfield and have always needed boosters. your website now states week signal, and I assume that explains it (a local aerial fitter says he has had losts of complaints in recent weeks)but do you know when we will get any decent signal back.

Hi Brian.

As Roger posted above, I assume the listed changes to the Waltham transmitter, take place tomorrow, 25th October 2011. Thank you for the 'warning'.

In addition, my Mother has had problems with the MHEG 5 Text service. Some pages fail to load, and just say 'loading...' then freezes the TV. The only way out is to turn off the TV, and start again. This only affects a very small number of pages (one or two a week at most), but I was wondering if it is a general problem experienced by others (such as a CRC error), or just a problem with the firmware in this particular TV.

Would be glad to hear if anyone else has had a similar problem with pages loading.

Ian: In most cases this should not cause any retuning as there is no change to the service information tables, only a change to the forward error correction, which most boxes will detect anyway.
