Im v unhappy, I cannot get east midlands tv even though my ariel is pointed to wWltham. I get west midlands news, which when I live in Spondon, Derby is very boring as I don't relate to it at all. Can you help or advise?

Su: There is a large overlap of signals from two transmitters in your general area, these being Waltham and Sutton Coldfield.

You may be able to manually tune in the channels for Waltham, having "blanked" what's already stored, probably by running the scan through with the aerial unplugged.

Waltham uses channel numbers BBC One (C61), ITV1 (C54), BBC One HD (C58), ITV3 (C29), Pick TV (C56), Film4(C57).

If you run the scan through and unplug the aerial at 25% and then plug in again about 58% it should miss out 39 and the 40s which are those used by Sutton Coldfield.

Once you have done this, check that it is tuned to Waltham for all channels. Do this by viewing the signal strength screen on each of the six services above (five if it isn't a HD set). Then observe that it is tuned to the UHF channel given above.

I live on the outskirts of Nottingham but within the city boundary, and within sight of the Nottingham relay. My aerial however points at Waltham as it is the major transmitter for our region and I have good line of sight.
I have today searched for channel 26 and found a signal of around 98% strength but zero quality (Sony TV). I am on the very edge of the predicted Waltham coverage area for the new local Notts TV but well within the area for the Nottingham relay.
Do you think this means I will get good reception of Notts TV once it starts broadcasting in the New Year? Does a very good signal strength but no quality mean that a carrier signal is being broadcast but no multiplex?
Thank you.
