DAB links, multiplex lists and compare TV improvements
The main changes that have been made are:
Firstly, I have created a link to the DAB checker, which has replaced the "Freeview HD start date" link that appears to the right of posts that people make, and also in the "my settings" box at the top right of the page.
The second change is that now S4C HD has been removed from Freeview in Wales, I have removed the "ITV 3 Channel Islands" that was showing a confusing icon on the TV Compare pages.
The third change is to the "Freeview Multiplexes" page. You can now still view the diagram form of the page, but I have created a new "text" form of the page that lists the services clearly.
Other changes include using a "standard" Twitter Widget in the right-hand side column, and removal of "analogue" elements from pages.

When I asked what would happen at switchove, because I routinely lost the BBC channels for 8 eeks or so in the summer, and had to use analogue (which had ghosting...) I was told the power increases would solve this problem.#
I still lose bbc chamnnels, particularly in hot weather - and cant use analogue any more! the only difference is that sound goes more frequently than picture break up.
I am on Bluebell hill, in a weak signal area, but with amplifiers in the aerial leads - and BBC frequencies are on the extreme edge of the high gain aerial bandwid.
Is any thing likely to improve?

PS I cant use satellite as there are trees in the way... I have tried!!

David: Generally speaking I match the data here to that provided by DMOL and confirmed (where I can) by my Freeview receiver.

Hi all!
I have been reading about the forthcoming Herts, Beds and Bucks DAB transmitter on channel 10D. However, I have been unable to find any projected coverage maps. Living in West Essex, I am currently able to receive in order of strength: BBC DAB, National 1 DAB, London 1, London 2, London 3, Kent and Essex services.
Note, Essex comes in at the weakest!
My question is, should I expect to receive a signal from 10D multiplex when it opens up at Easter time?
Thanks for your help.
Steve.

Please help - re: HD Channels audio.
I have VIRGIN STB downstairs and a TECHNIKA HD STB upstairs. When I run HD Channels, especially the BBC ones, the audio output to the Amplifier(s) is much lower than the SD version. Eg: VIRGIN Ch 101/108 and Freeview Ch 1/101. The reception is excellent except for this annoyance. I sometimes have to watch the SD Channels, as the HD Ch's output is very low!
The Radio Ch's on the other hand have much greater output - & if I change over from a TV Ch, the audio is extremely loud!
Kind help & suggestions would oblige.
If necessary kindly take this up with BBC Engineers, as my enquiries have have not helped. THANKS & KIND REGARDS.

Re: My previous message - I am in WD19 area, with unobstructed signal path from Crystal Palace. I use a rooftop "standard gain wideband yagi", with a direct cable run to the upstairs HD TV.

This must be the most 'protracted' launch of a ny service whether it be TV or Radio.
When is Muxco eventually launch the East Wales/West Cheshire DAB multiplex?
The transmitters are now equipped with Transmitting Antennae's.
What are we waiting for?I'm beginning to believe it may never happen!!.lol.
