Can I use my ex-contract sky digital satellite receiver to get Freeview channels
You can get the following Freeview channels on with an ex-contract digital satellite receiver (once it is connected). Items marked with a star require either a Freesat from Sky (fSfS) card, or a expired Sky subscription card to view.

alexander taylor: Not unless you change the LNB thats presently fitted and replace it with a dual or quad outlet port type.

Please, Can I use Sky box to receive free Channels in Africa? I mean will the sky box function like any other free to air receiver in Africa?

Tony: To be honest, you would be much batter off using a box which can deal with generic satellites.
Sky boxes can work, but you are limited to adding 20 "other channels" and they can easily be deleted by accident.

Hi I dont have problems with the skybox basic, its just that has I dont subcribe to the tv side of it, have landline and broadband for that, the basic sky does not carry some of the channels that freeview have. As my external aerial is old I bought an internal free aerial, that doesnt seem to pick up anything. Therefore I wondered if I can use my sky box and use the freeview aerial into that to pick up the freeview on the tv, not sky freeview. thanks again
