To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:

Try this:

1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;

2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;

3) wait 30 seconds;

4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;

5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;

6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;

7) do a complete scan for channels again.

The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Julie: I'm not sure if you mean that the RF loop out isn't working at all - that a TV connected to it won't even show the analogue channels - or whether you just mean that a preset on the TV tuned into the Humax's own output isn't working. The 'Default Setting' option resets the Humax's output to its default value, which I think is 36. If you moved it previously, you'll need to reset it to the value you chose before.

You may have needed to do this to get Channel 5 analogue to work, since that's on C37. I find that with the Humax on standby, it still seems to cut the looped-through signal around C36 even though I've moved the RF output to a different frequency - Mux C at Crystal Palace (on C34) never works on the TV when the Humax is on standby, and Channel 5 is more snowy.

Hi.

I have 3 Digital TV's with built in Freeview.
2 are in the bedrooms, the other is in the living room.

Last week the one in the living room lost all Digital channels, although it still receives 1- 5 fine.

When i put on a channel other than 1-5 i get the message NO SIGNAL.

The 2 TV's in the bedrooms still work fine.

I took the living room TV up to the bedroom and tried that ariel, but still no signal.

So i took my bedroom TV down to the living room and plugged that in to the ariel and no channels atall.

Any ideas what maty be wrong.

Thankyou.

John.

Charlotte mooe: BBC Two analogue has been switched off for good at Sandy Heath and Nottingham transmitters. To watch BBC Two, you need to select the digital tuner. Press TV, or SOURCE, or INPUT, or MODE on the remote to switch from analogue to digital tuner. Panasonic have made a variety of Integrated Digital TVs over the years, so I'd really need a model number to tell you exactly which buttons to press. The instruction manual also has the information. They have a pretty good archive of instruction manuals on their website, or try TV Re-tune productmanuals the 13th, the other analogue channels are turned off for good. If all BBC digital services are missing (apart from possibly BBC Four for the next two weeks), and they were watching Freeview before (able to watch BBC Four), we need a full postcode to figure out what the problem could be. It's most likely that signal levels are now too strong and you need to remove amplifiers or boosters, or add an attenuator, to bring them down to levels that won't overload the TV. (RG47SH)

Hi
I have recently moved in to a new house where the previous owners only ever used a SKY dish. I have I stalled a aerial in the loft (directed at Sandy Heath) and connected the appropriate cable, I then conected the other end to a 2 way splitter. 1 cable now runs to the bedroom which has a Technika TV with built in Freeview. The other cable runs to the kitchen which has a Samsung TV with built in Freeview.
On both TVs I can only receive BBC channels and 1 or 2 other random channels.
Any advice will be well received.
Many thanks Steve

Steve Freear: we really need a full postcode to figure out the signal strengths.

Only the BBC channels have gone to high-power digital so far. The ITV1/C4/C5 multiplex goes high-power next Wednesday, and the HD services start up. The other three multiplexes will go high-power in September, November, and mid-2012.

Generally you will get more reliable results with a roof-top aerial.

J Lowe: You need to retune. Mux 1 on C53 has closed and been replaced with the high power BBC A multiplex on C28.

It's recommended you do a full reset on the box on both DSO days. For the PVR-9200T, if you're using the most recent firmware 1.00.23, it resets all channels when you select Automatic Update.

If you have an earlier version, you should select Default Setting - you will have to reprogram your recordings, it will forget which channel the RF output was on, and it will go back to 4:3 output.
