My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Oxford
I live in Oxford city and I checked my postal code via the Freeview web page. The web page said, if I am not mistaken, the signal comes form Hannington. Thank you.

Vic: Well, I carried out a series of test post codes around the city and seen 100% reception predicted (trade version) from the Oxford transmitter on ever occasion, I can only then assume that you are maybe on the peripheral of the city and are screened from the transmitter. By the way on every test code I tried Hannington was indicated as being poor.
To confirm what station you are actually receiving from go into the TV's tuning menu / signal condition whilst on BBC1, and if you see Ch34 mentioned then that is the Oxford MUX, however if its Ch50 then that's Hannington.
If you do see Ch50, then have a look in the 800 ranges of channels in case the Oxford MUX's are up there.

Vic: Just noticed that you had now indicated your post code, however on re-checking with this info everything I said still applies.

For the past week or so we have been losing channels on 3 separate freeview boxes. Not necessarily the same channels on each box???
We have retuned each tv but to no avail. Some channels come back one day only to be missing again on the next. All are connected to the same ariel on the roof with booster in living room. Our postcode is cm23, does anyone have any suggestions please?

josh: Its quite impossible to suggest anything without knowing your location, plus it would also be of assistance to know what model of LG you are referring to.

Have log periodic aerial fitted to chimney on roof March 2011. Since Craigelly changeover on 15th June 2011, have lost multiflex band 2 (all ITV channels). They are in proper order on the HD box guide but show no signal so can't record programmes. Is this a fault with the box or is it the aerial? Does it need moved slightly or should it be replaced with a better one?. It was fitted as being adequate for the digital changeover according to the installer.

Jim B: Rather than your aerial not being good enough this could indicate that you might be receiving too strong a signal, as 100% indications are shown for all the MUX's you receive, trying an attenuator in line with the TV's aerial input socket the only real way of testing, unless you check using an indoor aerial.
As far as HD is concerned, changes to the method of HD transmission that took place caused problems with a number of boxes, so maybe you could indicate the model number of the one you are using.

I tried everything including buying a new box. Still cannot receive ITV 1,2 3 + channel 4E4+ Channel 5 etc. I can see many viewers are affected and therefore believe all these boxes could have been programmed not to receive signals for these channels
