Dave G: Yes, you would have to use one of these video sender units as sold by Argos and such likes, the sender being connected into the Sky boxes scart socket and the receiver likewise connected into the new TVs scart socket, the plus point of these devices being that the quality of picture is superior plus you have stereo sound, and as you do not have any cables between both you can position the remote TV anywhere there is a power socket.

Jon Hill: Have you turned RF2's power on? this done on the installation menu accessed by pressing "services" then in a smooth sequence 4-0-1-select" (sometimes 0-0-1-select) then 4, and a procedure which is always more successful if NOT looking at the screen whilst pressing the buttons.

If though you have the power activated then is the new coax link in one continuous length? and if so what's the approximate distance involved? as Sky HD boxes are known to be much more critical to cable length over standard Sky boxes, and eyes not working isn't exactly an uncommon complaint.

Another point is, have you tested the eye straight into the back of the RF2 socket just to ensure that it works, obviously for the test having temporarily covered (with a towel or similar) the Sky boxes pick up eye.

We used to have the old analogue aerial which was connected to a distributor in the loft and the individual cables to aerial sockets in each room. We have since had Freesat installed in the lounge and have a 4 way PNR on the dish to connect 2 cables to the Freesat box, we have another sky box in the bedroom and another cable to that and the same in the kitchen. However we now need a signal to another bedroom. Are we not able to connect the freesat or sky box to the distributor in the loft as get signals on the separate TV's in each room through the aerial sockets as before to save having to have a separate skybox or freesat box in each room?? We dont mind that you can only watch the same channel in each room as the freesat box is set to.

Mandy: If you have used all four outputs on the dishes quad LNB then you could change it for an "Octo" version, but as you mentioned that its acceptable for the extra bedroom location just to be able to view the same programme as on the Freesat box (PVR?) then all that's required is to purchase an RF modulator and couple this into the Freesat boxes scart socket, as that will then give you exactly the same facility as a Sky boxes RF1 output.

The point I am not quite clear about though is, that although you had mentioned the old analogue aerial you haven't indicated as to whether or not this is used for Freeview reception, so maybe you could clarify that point.

This is a link to a popular type of modulator.

David: Is the red light on the magic eye actually on? and are you using the "new" Sky boxes remote control when attempting to change the channel? finally have you altered anything with your set up other than now using a different Sky box?

That said though, your type of complaint is not exactly unheard of when associated with new HD boxes.

Hi jb38,
Thanks for your reply. We dont use the old analogue aerial, the signal now comes through the satellite dish. But I wanted to know if we are able to put a cable feed from the sky box into a distributor in the loft which feeds cables into each of the rooms (into an aerial socket) and plug the tv in the others rooms into the aerial socket - will it pick up the picture from the sky box thats plugged into the distributor - or will it not work that way?
