I have now lost all signal can you tell me what the problem mig
published on UK Free TV

The problem could be one of:

- the aerial has been moved or damaged;

- the cables or connectors that connect the digibox to the aerial are damaged;

- the digibox has broken.

If you have a "spare" digibox you use this to test the aerial connection. Can you still watch analogue TV OK?

Is this using a Communal Aerial? When did this first happen?
Are your neighbours having the same problem?

Your locale might receive one of 4 transmitters, although the most likely is Winter Hill and the aerial would be pointing roughly WNW.
That said, there are no reported problems with any of the transmitters currently.
Did you try retuning at all, when you had no signal? If so, that will most likely have cleared the correct tuning, it's not advised to retune if you no or badly pixellated signals.

Check in your TV tuning section that you are correctly tuned to Winter Hill's UHF channels.
In the multiplex order BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, BBCB HD/PSB3, SDN/COM4, ArqA/COM5, ArqB/COM6, COM7
Winter Hill UHF channels are -
The main multiplexes are C32, C34, C35, C29, C31, C37, C55
The Local ones are Local Manchester, Manchester GI on C24 & C27.

If you need to retune, it'll be best to do it manually for each of those UHF channels to ensure you don't get the wrong transmitter, BUT it'll be best to clear any previous tuning first, so unplug the aerial and do a full automatic retune, as nothing should be found, it ought to clear all previous tuning. Plug the aerial back in and manual tune the channels listed.

If you still have the problem, and this is a communal aerial, especially if your neighbours have the same problem, you'll need to get onto your building management to get them to check out the communal system.

FYI, see Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview for which channels/programmes are carried on which multiplex.

None of the transmitters that you might receive in your general area are currently showing any reported faults.
Have you checked that your aerial looks intact and is pointing in the correct direction (compare to neighbours if need be). Also check that your downlead looks secure and isn't flapping in the wind.
Check the connections behind your TV and that everything is plugged in correctly.
Are your neighbours having the same problem? Which way do their aerials point?

I have had no digital signal for two days, the Belmont transmitter says it's undergoing work but when will this be fixed? We did have a pixelated picture early evening

The Belmont transmitter is currently listed for Planned Engineering with possible effect "Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels". I'm afraid Arqiva never give details of the work being carried out or how long it will last.

You say you've had no signal for two days, that's unusual unless you are in a weak signal area (or your aerial installation is faulty - how old is it?). As you haven't given a full postcode we can't say what the predicted reception for you locale may be.

If you give your fullpostcode we should be able to offer further comment.
Also look in your TV Tuning Section for the Signals Strength and Quality figures for each UHF multiplex and post the figures for each, which will possibly also help identify any issues.

I am in Camberley Surrey and use Freeview from the Crystal Palace transmitter. Since Fri 8/7/2022 I have had no reception of any BBC TV or radio stations.

I see that all of these are on RF CH23 (PSB1) 490.00 MHz. Is this RF channel on low power and when will it go back to full power if that is the case?

Note that all other TV and radio stations (the commercial ones) on the other RF channels are showing their normal signal strengths

Peter:

Unfortunately due to technical issues the Planned Engineering list is apparently not up-to-date. It's therefore quite possible that there is work at Crystal Palace. In any event Arqiva never provide the details of any work or how long it may last.
Do you have a set with a T2/HD tuner and so can get the HD channels 101-105?

Additionally not all the details on the Crystal Palace page are up-to-date, they currently are -
In the multiplex order BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, BBCB HD/PSB3, SDN/COM4, ArqA/COM5, ArqB/COM6, Local multiplex, the UHF channels for Crystal Palace are as follows
C23, C26, C30, C25, C22, C28, C35 (London Local mux).

I can not receive any freeview channels on either my BT Box or my TV. The signals went down on 12/8/22. I have checked all cables. No issues. Ariel is 5 years old, and in the loft. I receive transmissions from Tacolneston Transmitter in Norfolk. There are no reported problems there, apparently. I am not receiving a single tv channel

G Page:

Have you checked whether any very near neighbours still have signal?
Like you, can't find any reports of faults, and Tacolnestion is not listed for Planned Engineering.

When you say you've checked all cables, does that include the one from the aerial to wherever the TV connects?

Do you have any splitter/distribution amp running more than one TV or box, or have any aerial pre-amp?
If so, do they still have power?

Did you retune at all when you first lost signal? Have you retuned since?
