What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fau
How to Reset a Sky Digibox when 'No Signal' appears.
Reset method 1 - Delete and Rescan
- Turn the power off at the mains socket. Either do this by pulling the plug from the socket, or using a power switch if there is one.
- Remove the viewing card from the machine. Using a dry cloth or kitchen roll, clean the gold connector on the reverse of the card. Do not use any cleaning products.
- Check cables and connectors are in good order.
- Wait for at least 30 seconds.
- With the card still out of the machine, plug the Digibox back into the mains.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.
Reset Method 2 - Reset the LNB
If the above method does not work, the LNB may have a fault.- Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
On Sky HD, press the [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Press the buttons in the sequence above exactly - do not atttempt to use [UP] or [DOWN]. Note that when you press the second 0 and 1 nothing happens on the screen until you press the final [SELECT]. This is a "hidden menu". - Then press [1] to go to the RF output menu.
- Press [DOWN] three times to highlight the line 22Khz Command and then press [RIGHT] to change the value to [OFF].
- Press [DOWN] and [SELECT] to select Save New Settings.
- Press [SKY].
- Again press [SERVICES], [4], [0], [1], [SELECT]; then [1] again for the LNB Menu. (SERVICES 0 0 1 SELECT for Sky HD).
- Now press the [RED] button (reset all settings), then [DOWN] until you can select Save New Settings again.
- Press [SKY].
Reset Method 3 - Upgrade the system software
If there are still problems:- Turn the Digibox off at the mains again and remove the viewing card.
- Whilst holding down the BACKUP key on the Digibox - NOT ON THE REMOTE - turn the mains power on.
- Keep hold of BACKUP until the screen displays a "UPGRADING SYSTEM SOFTWARE" message ââ¬â this will be white text on a black screen. On some boxes this can appear as a half screen.
- Wait 10 to 20 minutes for the software to download and install. The box will restart when the process is complete.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.

Dionne: This question was fully answered in reply to your other similar posting made earlier yesterday (@ 11.16pm) using the undermentioned heading.
"My Sky box has a "no signal message" - what do I do?"

JOHN ANSELL: I would judge things more on the strength / quality readings you see indicated on the FREESAT box, as although unaware of the exact type of signal meter you are referring to, but if its not a professional type (or semi-pro) then it wont indicate quality, and that is far more important then strength, as dependant on adjustments its possible to have a really good strength being indicated but accompanied by low quality.
If you can view the TV from where the dish is located then leave the box on the signal check menu, then whilst viewing the indicator bars move the dish very slightly to the left or right of its present position to obtain maximum quality, as I cant help but feel that your problem is being caused by a quality problem, which of course is still linked to the strength especially if the latter is low.
Whilst you are at it you could test the skew positioning on both vertical and horizontal polarity signals, don't worry though if one polarity seems to have a lower indication than the other as this is quite normal.
This all said taking it that you do mean FREESAT?

Mary johnston: No signal on what? Freeview via your normal aerial or satellite reception using either Sky or Freesat?

hi everyone, thanks for your ideas on this page. for the past wk, my sky box has been losing signal. you go to bed and its fine, but off each am. The techs at sky got it up and running the 1st day, but its become a nuissance. I was told today they would have to send an engineer at the cost of 65pounds, which I can't afford. So went online andfollowed some of your suggestions. Sky now working thanks guys!!

Hi. I am struggling with my sky system at the moment. I am getting No Satellite signal on the screen. I get code 25 or 30 or 14 on the message box. I have a sky + HD and multi room. My input 1 signal is about two thirds the box and the input 1 signal quality is shifting left to right in the box then steadies about half the box. Input 2 is unsteady. I have input lock indicator OK and network ID 0002 and input transport stream 07d4. Can someone enlighten me as to my problem this has been going on for the past 2 weeks now and am now getting very annoye. Please help anybody. Thank you in advance for information

Elisabeth Pugh: Indications of that nature can suggest that water has entered the "F" connector(s) on the dishes LNB and is partially short circuiting the signal, or secondly that the actual dish is slightly out of alignment, this possibly caused by it having been moved slightly by high winds, or maybe even that something has knocked against it like a ball or similar.
If the dish can be seen from the TV then whilst the box is on the signal test screen have someone press on the left hand side of the dish and note if this makes any difference, if not then the right hand side should be tried, because if its an alignment problem then this procedure will reveal it as such.
If though none of these two tests make any difference then this points to water having crept into the "F" connectors, and so they should be unscrewed from the block and then further unscrewed from the coax for purposes of being checked out for moisture, this including the end of the coax, reassembling same after having wiped out with a tissue.

We moved to a house just across the border from Northern Ireland. The house had an old sky dish and we had a sky plus box that we brought down from the north. We ceased our SKy contract and were able to connect the Sky plus box to the dish and receive the freeview channels. However, yesterday, Fermanagh (northern Ireland) started the digital switch and our signal (in the South) has been lost. I read that I was to retune the box to receive channels, but nowhere on the Services menu does it tell me how to re-tune. Is it possible to return a Sky plus box that you no longer pay Sky for?

Sorry, end of my last post was meant to read 'Re-tune', not 'return'.
