From Wikipedia: The channel's annual budget for 2011/12 is 1,166.6 million.3 Along with the BBC's other domestic television stations, and many European broadcasters and some in Asia, it is funded principally by the television licence fee, and therefore shows uninterrupted programming with no commercial advertising at any time. It is currently the most watched television channel in the United Kingdom, ahead of its traditional rival for ratings leadership, ITV1. This system used a vertically-scanned image of 30 lines just enough resolution for a close-up of one person, and with a bandwidth low enough to use existing radio transmitters. - en.wikipedia.org en.wikipedia.org link icon read more about BBC One HD on wikipedia (summary by Clipped).

Hi, Stockland Hill has no BBC1 HD. Been away. Have re-tuned. Still nothing. Ideas?

David Pressley: The national BBC One HD service was replaced by local BBC One HD regions (BBC One South West HD for Stockland Hill) earlier this year. If you are receiving BBC Two HD on 102 then try retuning with the aerial unplugged to clear the tuning memory, then reconnect the aerial and retune again.

P. Johnston: If you mean the Manhattan SX Freesat HD box, it should already have BBC One HD on 101 and will not loose any BBC channels in January.

Hello;
I am going to post a couple of questions on different pages of this excellent site; related to trying to figure out the cause of an intermittent loss of some terrestrial programmes by my mothers TV.

It is an Avtex L270DRS; usually used by people in RV/Caravan type of situation, but installed in her house because we could not find any other TV with the right size to fit the available space at the time of purchase.

I now understand from posts on eg https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/avtex-not-picking-up-stations.240738/ that for the satellite tuner part at least, it is a device for watching "Free to Air" programmes, and has not licenced the use of the Freesat EPG.

So I thought it worth asking the viewers of this forum if anyone has experience of manually tuning the satellite part of an L270DRS to specific transponders ?

The L270DRS is fine for most terrestrial DTV programmes and the EPG that is available when tuned to a terrestrial transmitter.

The last time I tried an automatic / full scan for satellite programmes, the set did pick up lots of different channels (the dish was set up by an experienced installer), but absolutely no sign of them being in the usual LCN order for the preset numbers that are published in eg Radio Times; maybe I was unlucky in picking a time to do this that co-incided with the programme/channel shuffling that has been going on...

I will go back to Avtex support having recently discovered the above post; they are quite helpful when you can get the right contact on the 'phone ; statements they have made in earlier discussions are that the L270DRS is fine for people who re-tune every few days due to moving location regularly.

thanks &
regards,
Charlie.

Charlie S:

It could probably do with @StevensOnln1 or @js to answer this as I'm no satellite tuning expert so I don't know if the following help -
https://en.satexpat.com/sat/east/28.2/astra2-uk-spotbeam/
https://en.kingofsat.net/sat-astra2e.php

I believe that if the equipment isn't Freesat EPG licenced, the EPG order will be the order you tune them unless you can move them with a programme manager, but I'm not certain.
