Peter: The prediction for you is for very strong signals. If you have an amplifier or booster, try removing it. If that doesn't help, get an installer to come and check what's actually going on.

There is a limited amount of help we can provide remotely. It's really unfortunate that Freeview boxes don't have usable signal strength and quality meters that actually measure things in the units that the engineers use, which would tell us much more.

If the problem was restricted to ArqB I would suspect a damaged cable allowing in damp - cable damage usually causes more problems at higher frequencies than lower ones.

I live in a brand new house with brand new cables all lest than 3 years old. I am the first person to own the house and the set up worked perfectly until all of a sudden and around the same time as everyone had troubles, it's nothing to do with the cables, it's a flat screen tv with built in thats less than a year old. Set up isn't the trouble here. It's the signal coming to us thats at fault, we can't all have bad cables and poor quality cheap set top boxes !!!!!!

Peter: Yes, it is probably the " Arqiva B will temporarily move to channel 67 (at 20kW ERP) at switchover and then it will adopt its final allocation of channel 48 on 14 Sept 2011."

The multiplex changed modes at switchover to provide Sky Sports 1 and 2 for BT Vision customers, but this has caused some people to be unable to receive the multiplex until 14 Sept 2011.

Thank you sandy Heath, we now have NO dave or dave ja vue, pick and pick+1, lost film4 the other month, so what we are left with is pretty much the same as the old set up but we have all had to pay to upgrade our viewing equipment, slowly we are losing more and more channels because as I have been told the people who own sandy Heath are removing the freeview channels till near the end of the year to make room for the paying sky sports and such like so we clearly mean nothing as it's all about the money even through we have been forced into this new way.

Don't you just love it, and before someone tells me to try retuning or get an engineer round, I lose more everytime I do retune and that by it's nature proves it's not the cables or the recieving equipment.

I am going to google and track down who runs sandy Heath now and let loose because the constant lack of comms is now beyond a joke and someone is going to know about it this week

" The commercial multiplexes at Sandy Heath will remain on their pre-switchover channels and powers for a period after digital switchover. SDN will then temporarily move to channel 31 (at 20kW ERP) on 31 Aug 2011, before adopting its final allocation of channel 51 on 18th April 2012. Arqiva A will adopt its final allocation of channel 52 on 23 Nov 2011. Arqiva B will temporarily move to channel 67 (at 20kW ERP) at switchover and then it will adopt its final allocation of channel 48 on 14 Sept 2011".

Basically, you will have to wait until 14th Sept 2011.

hi all .In the last week i have been having problems with film 4 and itv4 reception .I have tried all the usual steps retuning etc .Sometimes it picks them up and others it moves them and the reception is just as bad .My pvr has a signal strength and quality tester and shows these 2 channels to have a good reception but at a poor quality ,all the others show 100% in quality and signal strength .The addition or removal of a booster or turning the in set booster on /off makes no difference .Help please

Peter: You should have your system checked, a rooftop aerial will deliver all six multiplexes at 100% quality today.

Ok I have just checked with a couple of neighbours and they say the same thing. Lost 80% of channels and the ones we do get are no of such poor quality that they are unwatchable which shows it's NOT my system and Defo the sandy Heath trans meaning they are giving such a poor service its now a joke and if your a family who can't afford sky you can't even get what you had before on analog anymore. Someone MUST be accountable for this as it's disgusting
