If indeed it is carried by Sky, then any Sky subscriber will be able to receive the programmes. If Sky provide the service in an unencrypted format then those using the free Sky services are likely to get it as well.
However, the Notts TV website at
NottsTV Video on Demand - NottsTV Nottingham Video on Demand does not mention any addition of Sky providing their services.

I twittered Notts tv on 20 May. They confirmed that Sky will be carrying their service, but the exact date in July has yet to be confirmed. When it is known they (Notts tv) will advertise it by social media.

Thanks for that update. However, it concerns me that those who are not users of 'social media' could miss out in the new means of getting Notts TV. Why do they assume that 'everyone' uses such services? Many younger people probably do but many older people probably do not.

MikeP:
I couldn't agree more.
I would however think that our local newspaper, the Nottingham Post (which is part of the consortium that run Notts tv), will publicise when Sky start broadcasting Notts tv. I believe that a large proportion of the Post's readers fall into the middle-age and older bracket.

Jim: Having seen Notts TV (although I'm in Cambridgeshire), I'm not sure that even with a Sky spot, social media and perhaps some help from the gods, there will be much difference to audience figues, unless there is actually something decent to watch on it!

MikeB: I very much doubt that there will be, as members of my family have informed me that the mornings on Notts TV comprises of a permanent (zero audio) live feed of Peregrine Falcons sitting in their nest, the info caption stating that viewers can observe their progress over the entire period , a statement which to me anyway, is strongly related to the old saying of "watching paint dry".

Further to my 10.40 pm posting, I should have pointed-out that even though on Sky, Notts tv will still only be available in the local area that the service currently broadcasts to (and probably limited to just the NG postcode area, but this is to be confirmed).
