Wilf: You are not able to receive the commercial multiplexes from Stockland Hill or Beacon Hill and the Tiverton relay also does not carry them.

Wilf: The available signal from Stckland Hill is subject to changes as switchover progresses in other regions and on the continent. At present the Digital UK postcode checker shows reception of Mux ArqB to be poor, however on 18th April 2012 it shows an improvement to variable.Even if you are unable to receive it now I would expect reception to be possible after that date using a good quality group A receiving aerial.

Hi again
I know the weather has changed so could this affect my reception. Chanel 12 has gone again.. Reading again previous replys, there was a reference to a type of aerial. What is the best make and type of aerial to install in my area please??

Wilf: The signal levels for the commercial multiplexes from Stockland Hill are currently still a little low, to protect the analogue services from Rowridge. Once it switches over in April next year, Stockland Hill's services will go to their full power levels which should improve reliability.

However, because they will still be co-channel with Rowridge, there is still a lower chance of reliable service compared to the PSB services.

I'd wait until next April before deciding whether to change the aerial.

I have a Technika LCD TV with Freeview that I obtained from Tesco about 2 years ago. Over that period I hvae been watching Yesterday without any problems - until last Monday.

When I tried to switch to Yesterday (12), all I was able ot receive was the Technika default screen. I checked the TV guide and channel 12 was there. I then carried out an auto search and when I checked the guide, Yesterday had not been installed.

I checked then on the main family TV (42" LG) which is on the same aerial, and Yesterday was there and showing normally.

Anyone any ideas?

Technika are quite prone to problems but if on one point it is ok and the other it is faulty it sounds like the coax could be the problem get it checked by a local aerial rigger. Note to other readers if you are looking fo a new tv don't get a technika they arn't very good try samsung, lg, sony or at a push panasonic but be wary of panasonic if you live in a area that can receive more than one transmitter it will pick them up and tune them in the order it finds them not the strongest signal
