darren hardman: I'm not entirely sure what you're asking but if it's about subtitles, that is down to the broadcaster so you would be better off contacting Horror Channel via their own website.

I have a number of tv's and set top boxes, which show poor signal qualty on some channels (TV guide)
But in a nutshell all my aerials are in line of sight to the Sheffield Crosspool, my main TV is a newish Samsung 4K tv, but also has a Humax T1000 recorder attached on it's own aerial, example: example: bearing in mind that the Crosspool transmitter broadcasts the Horror Channel on guide channel 70 using channel 42, 642000kHz, when tuned to the Samsung tv the signal strength and quality is 100% but when using the same aerial the Humax picks up the Horror channel 70 on channel 33, 570000kHz with arounf 70% strength and 100% quality and will drop the signal or pixelate
It looks like the other tv's / set top boxes have the same problem, I always choose South Yorkshire as the preferred transmitter rather than Emley Moor and the aerials are all vertically orientated, I have tried everything inc factory resets but only the newer Samsung gets the correct Mux.
Where are the other tv's getting Ch 33 570000kHz from? it's driving me mad as it's not always been like this.

Terry Parkin:

The Horror Channel is on the SDN/COM4 multiplex see Channel listings | Freeview which you might find useful.

C42 is indeed COM4 from Sheffield, but C33 is COM4 from Emley Moor so it looks as though you may need to manual tune rather than auto tune.
Your aerial(s) are probably picking up the signal on a reception side-lobe & even the polarisation may have changed somewhere on the propagation path depending on if there's been any reflections etc. This would also explain the lower signal strength and also that the signal may drop-out periodically, hence the pixelation.

I'd suggest that on the sets/devices where you have the issue that you unplug the aerial and do an automatic retune which should clear all previous tuning as no channels will be found, and then plug the aerial back in and do a manual tune. Sheffield muxes are on C21 - HD, C24 - PSB2, C27 - PSB1, C39 - COM6, C42 - COM4, & C45 - COM5. There is a Local mux on C35 which you may or may not be able to receive.

Hi Chris, I don't understand the channel 33 bit as the Emley Moor info page says com4/SDN transmits Channel 51 @ 714000kHz.
I tried retuning my Youview box which has the problems with incorrect channels, retuned with no aerial then retuned with the aerial, and still had the same problem, I may try setting one aerial to horizontal and point it to Emley mor and see what happens, Thanks for your help Chris.

Terry Parkin:

As per several recent posts on the Emley Moor transmitter page, the listings at the top of the page are wrong. The site owner has not had time to update all the changes resulting from 700MHz Clearance.
In particular please refer to my post Wednesday 5 February 2020 7:48PM on p217 over there.
I have repeated that in several posts recently.
I did suggest you do a Manual tune for the Sheffield muxes as you seem to be picking up some strong signals from Emley. Same would apply for Emley muxes if you want Emley.

Chris.SE: Hah, makes sense now if the site info has not been upated, will try a manual upate on the YOUVIEW box as it's not my main set top box and recorder, I've got to say digital is becoming a real pain with the constant channel updates means having to re input all the recording schedules as they are wiped due to possible channel changes, Once again thanks Chris.

Terry Parkin:

Well you'll be pleased to know that these are the last of the currently planned retune events for UHF channel moves.
The only retune events you (probably) may have in future is where a broadcaster moves a programme channel from one multiplex to another, or it's replaced by something else. Some sets will do those automatically.

Why do horrorextra show U certificate kids show at one in the morning, all kids are in bed where adults enjoy a late night horror film regardless of ipwether it's good or totally useless, stop showing kiddies sci-fi at one in the morning.

Tim: You'd have to ask the broadcaster (this isn't their website) but my guess is that it's just low cost filler that they already hold rights for so that they have something to show overnight when few people are watching. Numerous channels effectively close down overnight and sell their airtime to teleshopping channels.
