After any post where the commenter has provided a postcode, you used to see a single little link at the end of the post that said (map).

Now, under the poster's name, postcode and other information there is a line of four options like this:

• UK Free TV map • BBC Reception problems • Digital UK tradeview • Freeview HD

The first of these links to the UK Free TV mapping, such as this:

This allows you to explore the transmitters for your location over time and also show a terrain map, and the detailed information in tables sorted by direct, signal strength, frequency, service and transmitter names.

The second link takes you the the BBC Reception problems page for the postcode.

BBC Engineering example

The BBC service is pre-selected for digital terrestrial at the postcode. Using this form, you can access the BBC signal problem services.

The third link takes you to the digital UK trade prediction system:

Are there any known/posted reception or interference problems at this location - NG5 8RX
Consulting the map will show you that this location is close to the Nottinghamshire Police headquarters communications mast
Considerable intermittent breakup is being experienced on all DTT channels
The Nottingham T/X is shown on the terrain map to be 'in sight' and indeed closest
However, the ground rises to 130ASL in much the same direction as the transmission path thus masking the signal
Local tree growth doesent help either!!
