Below are all of Richard Cooper's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Terry Goodison: Hi again, Terry. Using data gleaned from my post to you timed at 7 p.m. this evening, I have found out the following: current DAB transmitters for Ludlow district are: Clee Hill (BBC National DAB only), Ridge Hill in Herefordshire, which also carries the Digital One Multiplex including Classic FM (DAB) and Turners Hill (Sandwell district of West Mids) which carries BBC National DAB and Wolverhampton & Shropshire local DAB and NO D1, and probably out of your range in South Shrops, anyway.New Commercial DAB transmitters are proposed for Hazler Hill near Church Stretton and Rhosfach Farm (don't know where that is in Shropshire, I'm afraid), plus new BBC DAB transmitters at Bishop's Castle, Church Stretton, Clun & Ludlow. These are all due to be on air by the end of October this year, and so I hope they will help you to receive Classic FM on DAB in South Shropshire in the Autumn, Richard, Norwich.

A g BELL: Hi, AG. Your transmitter at Bilsdale West Moor has been having engineering work done upon it during the past week and so this probably explains your weak signals, Richard, Norwich. Incidentally, BBC One HD does not carry 'Look Anything'. At the times when regional news programmes are broadcast on BBC One SD, BBC One HD displays a caption advising you to re-tune to BBC One SD for your local programme. Hope this helps, Richard, Norwich.

FAO: Briantist: Re: 'My Radio Reception'. Whilst I realise you state, " the DAB/FM/AM radio page is under development", I need to draw your attention to the fact that you've forgotten to include Stoke Holy Cross FM for my postcode NR2 2EF .SHC FM carries BBC Radio Norfolk 95,1, Radio Norwich 99.9 on 99.9, Heart East Anglia on 102.4 and Kiss 105-108 on 106.1 (Norwich relay of Mendlesham, 106.4). Whilst your devoted Stoke Holy Cross FM page includes these, it would also be nice to have them on the 'My Radio Reception' page! Thanks Brian, Richard, Norwich, 9th July.

FAO: Briantist: Hello again, Brian. In addition to adding Stoke Holy Cross FM to 'My Radio Reception', could you also add 'Droitwich' for BBC Radio 4 198 Long Wave? Many thanks again, Richard, Norwich.

John Martin: Hi, John. Yes, it is amazing how many stations on FM continue to use 'Optimod' or a similar type of compression when one of the orIginal points of FM broadcasting was the much greater dynamic range the listener obtained over A.M. transmissions. There are, as you hint, many channels on 'Freeview' that don't appeal to the discerning viewer and yet we still pay our one hundred and forty-five pounds and fifty pence every year. What a World we live in! Richard, Norwich.

Tom: Hi, Tom. In the ST5 postcode area, you are generally predicted to receive good reception of all Freeview channels from Sutton Coldfield and so a booster shouldn't really be necessary, especially as you have had a high gain aerial fitted. The first thing you should probably do is to check connections between each end of the fly-lead from the wall-plate tv aerial coaxial socket to the coaxial plug socket on your Samsung tv set. The connections inside those pesky little Belling and Lee coaxial plugs are NOTORIOUS for developing short circuits between the inner conductor and the outer braid of the coaxial fly-lead. Don't forget to check the one at the wall plate socket end ( which could be female) as well as the one going into the back of your tv (probably to try to convince male).A 'short' in the coax is a classic 'trick' of unscrupulous aerial contractors to try to convince viewers that they need a new aerial when they don't! Try this course of action first, then we can advise further if necessary. Richard, Norwich.

nick: Maybe you are one of those who simply gets 'too much' signal, which can cause freeze-ups due to overloading! 85% is the max signal strength recommended for HD. Richard, Norwich.

jb38: Morning jb: Brilliant idea to suggest Alan rotates or tilts his aerial slightly. Richard, Norwich.

Ron: Hi, Ron. I have a number of different DAB radios, some of which are made by Roberts Radios Ltd. In order for you to get help from this website, we need you to provide the postcode of a building on your street or road, such as a shop or a post Office or a Garage. Alternatively, you can give us the name of your district or village. This is so we can look up which transmitters cover your locality, and then we can suggest things that you can do to get and/or improve DAB reception on your Roberts Sports DAB radio. Hope to hear from you soon, Richard, Norwich.

peter: Hi, Peter. Rowridge has no reported problems and so you need to carry out a thorough check of your setup including aerial condition and orientation, the condition of the down-lead, the condition of connections at the wall-plate and the set, the condition of the fly-lead linking the wall plate to your set, and so on, Richard, Norwich.
