My Humax Freeview PVR flashed up a message suggesting I would need to do a retune on 3/8/2011. Has Emley Moor's DSO been brought forward or is this a mistake?

Thanks KMJ - I am fully aware that Belmont and Oliver's Mount go DSO stage 1 on Aug 3rd which is why I was hopefully expecting someone to acknowledge that they goofed triggering that message on Emley Mux 1.

Mark Harrison - just a thought but the 64QAM channels may be more susceptible to multipath reception which is possible at your location if there are any good size buildings further away from the mast but sending a comparable signal to your direct signal by reflection as they could be better illuminated. In that case it may be advantageous to point your antenna at the reflection so long as the source is going to be permanent. Checking your analogue reception(while you can) may show up ghosting so this could be the issue.

When I enter my postcode of LS22 6RN in your postcode search for freeview, I always get a map of Belmont's coverage and not Emley Moor. Why ???

Is the new BBC'A' mpx on Ch47 running at full power or an intermediate level during this 14 day gap to DSO 2 ?

Minor correction:-
C43 is no longer in use at Emley.
What was there now is on C52 the old low power main BBC mux.
C43 has to be lost for use at Sutton Coldfield.

Eddie.
I think that function has been taken over by the EPG usually selected by the 'guide' or 'EPG' key on your remote.

I am prepared to be corrected on this but, as I understand it, the TV licence is only a permit to OPERATE "television receiving equipment". The fact that the fee goes to the BBC is at the whim of politicians and was not always the case. It gives you no rights as to what you receive.

Another history lesson. It was reckoned that when ITV started and the TV licence was £4, you were actually paying £6 for ITV through invisible advertising costs. Judging by the fact that people are prepared to pay around £500 for Sky, the ratio has changed for the worse and you are actually paying twice to watch adverts. Ron, yes I thought that David's last sentence was quite self critical.

Oh and I forgot to mention that only £3 of that licence fee went to the BBC, £2 for TV and £1 for radio. HM treasury took the other £1.
