Re. your posting of 19 May. I definitely agree with you. BBC news can be parochial in its coverage (e.g. it rarely covers any local tv news in North Nottinghamshire - BBC Look North (Leeds and Hull) and
East Midlands Today (because it's not in its editorial/reception area), but to me it never appears to show any political bias.
By the way, I consider the tv licence fee to be excellent value for money.

Notts TV

MikeP:
I couldn't agree more.
I would however think that our local newspaper, the Nottingham Post (which is part of the consortium that run Notts tv), will publicise when Sky start broadcasting Notts tv. I believe that a large proportion of the Post's readers fall into the middle-age and older bracket.

Further to my 10.40 pm posting, I should have pointed-out that even though on Sky, Notts tv will still only be available in the local area that the service currently broadcasts to (and probably limited to just the NG postcode area, but this is to be confirmed).

Waddesdon is on the fringe of 2 transmitter reception areas, Oxford (which carries BBC1 South/ITV Meridian) and Sandy Heath in Bedfordshire (which carries BBC1 East/ITV Anglia).
Some households in your village will receive South Today & ITV News Meridian as their aerials are aligned towards the Oxford transmitter near Beckley (roughly West South West from Waddesdon). Others however have their aerials pointing (approx. to the North East) to the Sandy Heath transmitter and will therefore receive Look East/ITV News Anglia.
DigitalUK's tv coverage checker for a property on High St. does actually suggest that Sandy Heath will generally provide a better service there, but they also show that Oxford could provide an alternative.
As you don't receive the South region local news, you aerial is probably pointing to Sandy Heath.
Have a look around your neighbouring homes and see the direction their aerials are pointing; it will give you a general idea as to what might be possible for you.
Ask a local aerial installer for his opinion and then you can decide if it the cost involved in changing your aerial (if necessary) will be worth it.
You could also try searching the Freeview EPG channels 800, 801, 802, 803 etc. on your tv to see if it has picked-up Oxford but has stored the Sandy Heath channels on EPG 1, 2, 3 etc.

It looks as though most ITV viewers in north Gloucestershire won't be too pleased with this news. The only ITV local news will then be coming from Birmingham instead of Bristol, just as the BBC. I'm sure though that the Central News (West) will provide a better service than BBC Midlands.

The Beeb's editorial regions don't correspond with the transmitter reception areas. Thinking of the East Midlands in particular, ITV Central East does provide some local news from Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and the Peterborough area. BBC East Mids. occasionally covers the Grantham area, but never Northants and Peterborough even though they do have viewers there.

North Notts is a 'no go' area for local tv news from any BBC region (East Midlands, BBC Yorkshire or BBC Yorks and Lincs).
95% of people in north Nottinghamshire receive programmes from Belmont and Emley Moor, but the BBC disregard that fact and therefore ignore the area.
ITV Yorkshire Calendar news does sometimes venture into our county.

Full technical details of Freeview

Ken Newby:
I think that you will be watching ITV in HD. All ITV High Definition broadcasts throughout the whole of the North of England currently carry Granada's output, both local news and adverts.
ITV have indicated their intention of showing Tyne Tees transmissions in HD on Freeview at some future date, but nothing has yet been finalized.
In the meantime, you should be able to receive Tyne Tees in Standard Definition only. ITV in SD normally comes up on Freeview's Electronic Programme Guide on channel 3 (and HD channel 103).
To find Tyne Tees if it's not on channel 3, try searching EPG in channels 800 upwards.

I use a Mac OS X (El Capitan) version 10.11.6 and I am experiencing exactly the same as you. I've tried browsers Safari, Firefox and Chrome and they all produce the same results.
