Tom Mirfield:

it may be that your reception for those channels are marginal, If this is the case then it is possible for 1 tv to show the channels and another to not work.

When signal is marginal 1 brand and software will still happily work fine, yet another brand will display no signal.

If you try the tv on the other connection it will answer the question of (is there an issue with the tv)

SEAN,

VP is the way forward.

COM7 HP doesn't carry many channels and they are at very low signal levels.

To receive these in some locations you will need to have a high gain aerial and possibly an amplifier which will then also mean you will need to 4G filter your system.

Installs are now being fitted VP with much better wind loading aerials and shorter masts.

I have been to high gain aerial installs damaged in storms which had amplifiers and 20 foot masts, I have been able to change them to a smaller aerial with a 6 foot mast and no amplifier.

At this stage I would imagine the sacrifice of these few channels is worth it, hopefully in time the new channels will be on VP and eventually they ditch HP.

Phil:

it sounds like you have an issue with the tuner inside your HD box.

If you move the box to the other room to check if the problem still existings this will give you the answer.

If your box still doesn't work correctly then it is in need of replacement.

Charles Stuart:

softward update for your tv can only occur through at usb adaptor or Ethernet port.

so I wouldn't worry about your tv updating.

If you have issues with your tv and feel it software needs updating then you will need to download the software onto a USB stick then install manually onto the tv.

Ellen:

many things can cause this issue.

How long was you getting picture break up before there was no signal?

do you know which transmitter you receive signal from?

how old roughly is your aerial and cabling?

TimW:

It doesn't really matter.

I personally would sacrifice the new HD channels for a better service on the mass of channels and keep aerials on VP rather than the old HP.

I would suggest people forgot about the new hd channels, they will be outputted at such poor levels most people will struggle to receive them anyway.

Who want cbebbies HD anyway.

I have seen some fitters installing aerials HP still even today.

They must be from a national company and not local to the area.

ANDY THOMPSON.

Hi,

another thing you could also try is to check if the tv has its built in amp turned ON, if so then try turning this off to see if it helps.

Connor:

Have you ever thought that the issue might be your equipment or system and not the service being provided?

just a thought.

if nothing has changed other than the receiver, then you probably need it replacing.
