Charles: Why would you need a new aerial? If you are receiving all of the commercial channels from Reigate you must already have a wideband aerial, which will allow you to pick up any Crystal Palace signals that reach you.

Algernon Black: 99 times out of 100 there is no problem with the transmitter, and since I don't see any widespread complaints about the Oxford transmitter on here, what evidence do you have for there being a problem at Arquiva's transmitter?

Caroline: Probably never. You receive all of the HD channels currently available on Freeview, and also all of the channels the licence fee pays for. The commercial broadcasters provide the extra channels for 90% of the country because it is financially viable for them to do so.

You don't have to subscribe to Sky unless you want Dave, Yesterday and extra HD channels - just get Freesat.

Movie Mix

hippo: Do you get Dave, Sky News and PickTV? These are all broadcast on the same multiplex as Movie Mix. Do you also have channel 61, True Entertainment, as that was added recently on a different multiplex and should have been picked up by your retune.

Dave: Well which HD channel do you think should have gone on that spare HD stream on PSB3 until 7pm?

Anto: If you scroll up to the list of multiplexes you will see Dave is on the ArqA mux - try a manual scan for UHF channel 26. Although, the commercial channels from Divis are broadcast at half the power of the public service ones, so you may not be able to pick them up.

Roger: Your previous post had someone also on Sandy Heath reply to it, and they said there was no problems. I would suggest if you want to check if there's any problems in your area, that you ask any neighbours who are also on Freeview.

When you say you only have 20 channels, do you mean the other 70 are not in the guide, or they are just do they just break up if you select the channel?

Pauline Baggio: Have a look at the FAQs regarding free to watch satellite here, primarily #1: Most popular questions | ukfree.tv - 11 years of independent, free digital TV advice

There are some differences between Freesat and Freeview (Dave, Yesterday and some other channels are not available on Freesat). Also, if you have a Sky+ box that you'd like to keep using the PVR functionality on, you would need to pay Sky £10/month.

If you don't want to remain on satellite, but already have an aerial set up at the property then you should get good reception of all Freeview channels and would just need to purchase a Freeview+ box to record.

Brian Torrens: So you get BBC1, BBC2, C4 and CBBC/BBC3 (coming soon) all in HD but you don't get UTV HD? You're definitely on Freeview and not Freesat?
