rob: Did you notice the part where I said "it's not a retune event"?

r. bedford: Go to menu > channel > manual store, then input channel 55 (frequency 746MHz and 8MHz if required) if you want to manually tune in the BBC channels from Midhurst.

If it doesn't allow you to do that, go to menu > setup > plug and play to reset the TV.

gweneh: If you read the reply to your previous posts, you'd see jb38 has pointed out that many aerials are pointing to the local Aldeburgh relay transmitter so reception of channel 55 may not be great - as confirmed by the Digital UK tradeview predicted ch55 to be variable at your location.

r. bedford: Then you'll need to press either the TV button, or source button then select DTV.

First rule before you do anything is check the TV is actually in digital mode and not try to display non-existent analogue channels!

r. bedford: Ok, then try pressing button 2 for channel 2, then once it goes to it, press button 2 again and it should switch back to DTV mode.

r. bedford: Just to clear it up, do you still have it in analogue (ATV) mode? Because all of our advice regarding retuning will be useless unless it is in DTV mode!

Ken: might not be the actual aerial, could be an amplifier or something similar that has failed. I'd have thought the easier option would be for the landlord to get an aerial installer out to see what's wrong than to get Freesat.

Briantist: Didn't even need to retune my Samsung Freeview HD TV - the channels showed up automatically. Wonder if that is part of the Freeview HD spec?

Dave: That's up to channel 5 if they want to go onto Freeview HD. There has been space available on PSB3 for a while now, and they haven't bothered - obviously getting too much money from Sky and Virgin Media to be HD on their platforms.

Michael Flynn: This is not the website of Channel 5, so you should go to channel5.com if you wish to contact them.
