Paul: Yeah give me half an hour, I'll have adjusted the laws of physics and atmospheric conditions.

David Mansell: The 303HD channels is now closed and has been replaced by BBC3 HD/CBBC HD - they should be there automatically, if not then you need to retune.

You pay the licence fee to operate television equipment capable of receiving live broadcasts, and since you receive all of the BBC's content in SD I cannot see how you can call it "fraud" - you literally get everything you pay for.

Given the limited amount of frequencies available it is impossible for everyone to get the new com7 and 8 muxes. However it will reach 70% of the population by summer 2014 and their purpose is to drive Freeview HD equipment uptake so that the more efficient DVB-T2 standards can take over - and in the long run it will probably make more channels available to your relay!

David Mansell: There is simply not enough UHF spectrum available to carry more than 5 HD streams from each of the 1000+ transmitters in the country.

Therefore, as 6 UHF channels in the 600MHz range are available after reorganisation at the digital switchover, 30 transmitters are being set up with capacity to broadcast a total of 10 HD streams, which will cover 70% of the population by summer 2014.

So the question to you is, should 70% of the population be deprived of BBC4/News/Cbeebies/Al Jazeera in HD just because you won't be able to get them?

MikeP: Eh? Are you saying that pixelation couldn't occur before the switchover in each area?

mazbar: What was the make of the boxes? I noticed on digital spy's forums some people had noticed this issue with older Vestel boxes.

KEVIN GARDINER: Transmission coverage of HD on Freeview is 98.5%, exactly the same as the rest of the PSB channels.

And not sure where you get your figure of 15% for Freeview HD equipment - according to the BBC it's "more than half, ... rising to 90% in 2019" who have the ability to watch in HD - some might only be able to watch via satellite/cable but I don't think that will by 40% of them! JCS Jackson: Most probably never (or not before the current com7 licence period ends, I think in 2019?).

Also, putting your phone number on the internet is not a good idea...

Harry Gorman: No, you can only get them from one of the 80 main Freeview transmitters, your closest being Caradon Hill - which is probably unavailable from your location and is the reason you would be using the Knightsbridge relay/ If you want more channels you should get Freesat.
