Just to make you giggle
Mate of mine brought a new tv from one of the big stores mentioned, not saying which one.
"New HD tv the guy says we can offer you a free sky box with that".
My mate thought well what the hell, and took the offer.
But wait.
Sales man "When you have the new tv hooked up to the new sky box you will need an extra special all singing all dancing gold lead"
My mate excepted this and paid the man £70 for a SCART lead.
For a start how does a scart lead get HD, it's called a hdmi lead for a reason.
These guys I agree are on a very low wage, and yes we all have to earn a living so the wife can raid our accounts to buy the latest shoes.
But really mr big store owner at what point is this classed as
THEFT from the customer ?????
Or non trained staff ??????

I there is a lot of engineers up and down the country that prob work for these people by the sounds of it, don't think they will be happy buddy.

I agree nick this is a good way but these people will also be paying commission to the shops won't they?? So this extra cost will have to come from somewhere.

Best way is shop around and maybe ask the people on the phone to name a landmark or something near you, that will sus out the locals maybe ??
I use an 0800 number on my van and on website but only to make the calls cheaper for the customer, wouldn't want people to be put off 0800's all together we are not all bad.
Some of us trying to make an honest living.

Thing is poor old Rod Hull had an excuse, he tried himself because he never had a penny to his name.
Nothing worse than giving the best price you can to someone with an 8 bedroom house and 3 or more new cars in the drive. For them to turn round and say thanks for coming I will call someone else.
Try working round ascot fella's he he

Your lucky buddy I've had someone dump 3 aerial companies on the same road as me with 3 different local numbers and different websites.
When you look at the vat number they are all registered at the same address 30 miles away.
How many dirty mags do I want to send to that address he he
What a horrible way of operating

hey hani
really depends what is wrong you should get an installer to check it properly first and not just take peoples word for it.
i gather bt vision people did not actually check the signal with a meter.
shop around plenty of good honest guys down that way. But make sure you shop around and ask plenty of questions.

Freeview box will cost you anything from £10 to £250 depending on what you want it to do.
And yes you can get one for free if you are over 75 or registered disabled but to only one room.

Yeh Tom if you want a laugh I had a customer said I'm out of your area but no one will install my dish will you come and do it. She did not speak a lot of English but
I thought I would give it a go
Got there and I said it's easy i can drill it to the front or if she wanted to pay extra for a lashing kit I can install it on the chimney.
No she said my landlord will not let me have a dish outside I want it in the loft.
After me explaining it would not work in the loft she asked me to leave and that was that
How annoying a?
Mmmmmnnn

Yeh briantist,
Had another not long back in a rented property again, refused to let me drill a hole in the wall for cable to go through as landord had refused any drilling then once I found an alternative by doubling up on an old ntl point.
I asked him if his land lord objected if I try and hide the dish down the side alley.
He agreed
Got the ladders off started drilling 1st hole for the dish fixings and he came out "WTF do you think you are doing I will loose my deposit"
In the end when he said I could only use glue to hold up the dish we parted company.
With me biteing my bottom lip
