I cannot receive the HD channels on my Digital Recorder. If I plug the aerial directly into the television they are there. They were also there when I went back to the dealers with the Recorder.
So, could it be the aerial? Would changing the brand of Recorder make any difference?
I live in north London.

Rachel: Did you receive the HD channels prior to switchover?
I recently bought a new telly, and had it connected to my VCR and it all worked well. Bought a digital recorder and lost my HD channels. However, I changed DR for a different make and now it all works well!
Maybe some of that will help.

I am likely to be away from my property on both switchover dates. When I return, will I be able to just retune at that time?

jb38: Thanks for your comment. Sorry, I have only just found it. I swapped the DR for a different brand (same as the telly), and all works fine now !!
Yes, I am receiving Crystal Palace.

jb38: Thank you for your help. I am not sure how to do a factory default. I know how to retune, so I will do that when I return.
For people that are around on switchover dates, do they need to do just a retune or do they also need to do a factory default as well - I have seen no publicity about that.

My HD channels are breaking up today. (They have been all right up till now - although last night there was an occasional breakup but only for a second if that.
Checked other Freeview channels (non HD) and they seem to be okay.
Are there any problems at the transmitter ahead of switchover ?

I did the retune this morning and found I was getting no signal from BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 (no caption), BBC News. I retuned another couple of times to no avail.
I contacted Sony and when I eventually got through, she took me through a factory reset and it all seems to be working okay now.
On a slightly different subject, I notice I am now receiving 129 channels, previously 115. Anybody know what the extra 14 are - a quick glance on the EPG and I can't identify them.

Hi. I am living in London (Crystal Palace transmitter). I recently bought a digital tv with Freeview and it brought in 115 channels.
Yesterday I purchased Digital recorder and it has only '83' channels. Those that are missing include the HD channels.
Any thoughts?
