Bilsdale (North Yorkshire, England) Full Freeview transmitter

Looks like Bilsdale's analogue transmissions were off-air overnight, while Emley Moor was switching. Nothing about this on the website though...

Everything seems to be ok for me so far, signal may be a little on the strong side but the TVs seem to cope with it. That phantom extra Challenge on 795 has also disappeared; must have been some temporary glitch.

I wonder why Ofcom chose C56 for the (coming soon) local TV service? It would require many households who currently have Group B aerials to get widebands...

As Will said, I'd need to get a Wideband aerial to take advantage of these new Muxes (as well as the proposed 'local' Mux). If I did, it might make Bilsdale and Belmont's transmissions strong enough to be picked up here, and I'd end up with 3 sets of channels in addition to these new Muxes.

Is there any hint as to what these new Muxes will carry? Will they just be duplicating services that are normally available on Sky and Cable?

With regards to C5, I've never had a GOOD picture from that analogue channel since it first started up, but it was watchable.

Since switchover, I've had hardly any break-up or No Signal conditions on my Freeview sets. I'm still waiting for a very windy day though, to see if the TV can tolerate it now that the signal strength is better...
I think it may even be slightly too strong, as I have the issue with my Panasonic TV showing quality as very weak then jumping up to full. (53.8505,-1.5138)

As said above, there is no ITV1 HD feed for Yorkshire. Emley Moor is taking the Granada feed as this is the nearest region that has an HD feed. Surely it's not too difficult to switch over to the SD channel for local news?

Also, BBC One HD is a national channel and as such does not have regions. When BBC News cuts away to the local newsrooms, a message appears on BBC HD saying that it can't show programmes for every part of the UK, and that your local news is on channel 1 or 101.

There must be some kind of Inversion Effect going on now. Since yesterday I'm picking up a usable signal from Sutton Coldfield (BBC1 and ITV1), even all the way up here in Yorkshire!

Lots of problems this morning on Emley Moor. COM6/ArqB almost unusable, and occasionally picking up signals from Belmont and even as far as Sutton Coldfield!

Last few days, many problems with Inversion Effect. Almost every time I turn my TV on it says 'new channels found' and scans.
The so-called new channels are just other transmitters leaking in; frequently I get an additional BBC 1 from Belmont. On occasions I've also picked up channels from Sutton Coldfield, and right now I'm picking up quite a strong SDN signal from Waltham!

Today my Freeview TV did that rescan thing again, and seemed to think I was in Lincolnshire - channels 1-5 were from Belmont (and kept pixellating), and the Yorkshire channels were relegated down to the 800s.
Another Freeview set top box was worse. It insisted on the COM6 multiplex from Belmont being stored, and completely ignored the stronger COM6 from Emley Moor! Had to do a manual retune; perhaps this box is working on a first come first served basis?
