margaret Jenkins:

Further to the above, it seems there's probably a fault at the Charlbury Relay Transmitter, see its own transmitter page (click the name for a link).

Robin Farmer:

Well this is odd as the BBC aren't currently reporting a fault with C39 PSB1/BBCA multiplex, they have listed the fault on the 15th, but someone else reported the same problem on Wednesday
Can you check that you haven't lost tuning to C39 by carrying out a manual retune?
If you definitely have no signal after doing that, phone the BBC on 03700 100 123 and make a point of emphasising that it's been off all week and that you have retuned.

MR G A LEWIS:

Your comment about your aerial replacement has appeared on another page. That said, you should have no problem receiving signals from Winter Hill at your location.
I can't find any reports of any faults at Winter Hill, so this may have only been temporary and signals may be back to normal when you read this. This is no Planned Engineering currently listed at Winter Hill but there has been in recent weeks and there will have been interruptions to service in preparation for the final 700MHz clearance retune on the 22nd April.
As you have retuned, if this was done when there was no signal, it will have cleared the correct tuning. You should therefore repeat the retune and hopefully find all channels restored.

You may find it useful if you post on the Winter Hill transmitter page (click on the name for the link) if you continue to have problems, also read many of the recent posts there as they'll give the most recent information, but skip those about the EPG data if they are of no interest to you.

Thanks for that very useful info, I haven't used the My5 app for some time so hadn't spotted all the stuff now currently available.

As far as PBSAmerica goes, from their webpage About | PBS America | UK it seems it's also apparently available on the Amazon Prime subscription service for anyone signed up to it!

Really! I didn't look too closely as it's obviously not something of interest to Sian, and certainly myself. What a rip-off!!

Mazbar:

His other post is more relevant in the first instance, others are having similar problems.

Just to point out that only the first mention of Winter Hill in my last post get converted to a link, as will this mention - hopefully!

Peter:

How strange that they choose not to broadcast on the Bristol or Manchester Trial multiplexes as they are on all the others!

js:

Hi js, it's certainly confusing, the way they do it!
Anyway, this is obviously for my LG and no doubt many similar sets, other brands may have similar options but I'm not rushing off to check!
First I should clarify that I was never absolutely certain which was actually the EPG, I decided that before posting I should actually check, which I have on another set. So a correction to what I said previously, the EPG appears to be the one that DOES give the series and episode (where it's been provided by the broadcasters).
There seems to be 3 ways to get information about programmes on this set, each starts with just the programme on screen (no channel numbers, menu bars or other data displaying).

1st there's the Programmes List - click the RH cursor arrow, select Programmes (Up cursor arrow if needed), click OK button. Move up or down through the list as required with the cursor up/down arrows/keys and then select "i" (RH cursor arrow) and click OK. This gives a "synopsis" of the programme. You can move back tom the list for that channel and scroll down to later programmes and look at the synopsis for them.

2nd, there's the TV Guide - pressing the Guide button on the remote - this is the one where you can select available catch-up programmes as well. The Guide seems to give the "synopsis".

3rd. When you change channel, you get the channel number & name in the top LH corner. When it's not showing if you press the OK button to get the moving cursor on screen, point it in the top LH corner and click OK twice, you get the programme EPG details. You can scroll up and down through the channels with the up/down keys and to the next programme using the Right cursor key (and back to previous with the Left cursor key). On the channel you are viewing for the current programme it also gives Mode details - SD/HD, Picture ratio, etc including programme Category.

HTH.

It's a radio station broadcasting on 693kHz and 909kHz MW/AM (main transmitters) or 990kHz in West Wales from Cardigan Bay. It's also on DAB, as is a 5Live Sports Extra for extended additional Sports coverage.
