It's not just Rowridge, it's the whole country.

It was as a result of the closure of the temporary multiplex COM7 on June 30th.
See https://www.freeview.co.u…2022

There's no detail yet provided about how soon they'll be back on PSB3
See https://www.bbc.co.uk/rec…tion

We believe it's all part and parcel of the equipment changes that will eventually enable Local Regional News on BBC1 HD and that there have been some delays on equipment availability due the current global situation resulting from the pandemic.

There's not any detail (or even reliable speculation!) about at present. If something becomes available, I'll try and post it.

There are no problems reported by the BBC at present for their National multiplex or the Local one carrying BBC Radio Scotland etc.
If however you are having problems with the D1 commercial multiplex on Block 12A: 223.936MHz, trying to find any information about such commercial multiplexes is like getting blood from a stone!

Mark Holmes:

The "transmission frequencies change over time?" section below that is actually correct, which is at least something!

There have been a number of bugs on the site since the site software (OS) was upgraded a while ago, the site owner has not had the time to iron out all the bugs, and mail wasn't being sent at all (well I wasn't getting any for a while), but now back to getting weekly updates albeit on a different day to previously.
I think the default setting is weekly, but you have to log-in to the mail setting using the icon on the menu bar top RHS of the page BUT last time I tried it produced an error, so I've no idea if it's working now (and I'm not going to tempt fate with my own, sorry!).

Dave Smith:

Hello Dave. Unfortunately the site owner hasn't managed to get time to get all the information correctly updated since the 700MHz clearance. Whilst the main 6 multiplexes at the top of the page are correctly listed, the local ones are not. The frequencies of the 6 muxes are alongside the channel numbers.
The "change over time" list hasn't been updated either.
The temporary mux COM7 closed at the end of June when it's licence expired.

For the sake of clarity, here is the current data -
In the multiplex order BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, BBCB HD/PSB3, SDN/COM4, ArqA/COM5, ArqB/COM6
Winter Hill UHF channels are -
The main multiplexes are C32, C34, C35, C29, C31, C37
The Local ones are Local Manchester, Manchester GI on C24 & C27.
Liverpool Local mux on C21, Preston Local mux on C40.
If you hover over the C channel numbers, it should give you the frequency.

See Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview for what should be the up-to-date list of which channels are carried on which muliplex.

Rab Harris:

Did you not see the pop-up messages on all the channels that were on COM7 explaining what was happening to them?
BBC News HD would only be available on iPlayer or Satellite after 30th June.

COM7 and previously COM8 were only ever temporary HD multiplexes to stimulated public interest in HD. The BBCB HD/PSB3 is the only other HD multiplex at this time.

As a result of improved compression techniques with new encoders, more space has been created on PSB3 to accommodate BBC4 HD and Cbeebies (they time share, as do CBBC & BBC3 HD). The new encoders are part and parcel of enabling regional news on BBC1 HD and more local regionalisation on ITV HD.

The latest BBC information is at https://www.bbc.co.uk/rec…tion
