It works fine for me as well, as StevensOnln1 states.

If you try to zoom in too far, the coverage indiction (the green area) disappears so make sure you are not zoomed in too far.

Charles:

You need to have two entirely separate feed cables from the LNB all the way to the Humax box. Each cable is used independently to both receive the incoming sgnals but also to control the connected LNB element (there are at least 2 elements combined inside one LNB). The control signals consist of different voltages as well as tone signals to set the LNB element to receive the desired signals. Hence the must be controlled separately.

Alan Hume:

It would appear that a number of people are having the same problem in not being able to record BBC4 programmes using the EPG.

Have you tried setting the recorder manually? If it can record BBC4 manually then that would suggest a possible problem with the EPG information being broadcast.

Please also note that a partial post code never helps as it is insufficient to cause the display of the reception information at your location, only a full post code will do that.

The only possible error would be if the dish is larger than permitted. Check through the planning guide at Frequently asked questions | Planning Portal

Note that there are some rules differences between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I assume his dish is entirely within his property and not encroahing into yours. If it is, that does break the rules.

Tom:

I use Firefox, Opera or Chrome in Windows 8.1 (modified) and it works in all of those with no problems.

Rachel Brunsdon:

We use Mendip as our main Freeview source and there are no problems with the transmissions. So I concur with StevensOnln1 that you should carefully check all the aerial connections right from the aerial to the back of your TV set.

Mike:

To be able to offer any advice we need you to provide a full piost code. That will trigger the display of a row of small boxes below your posting which we contributors can use to examine the signal reception conditions at your location.

Note that not all transmitters carry all the services, but all the main transmitter carry most (all the PSB and commercial channels but some may not carry COM7 and COM8).

Alan Hume:

Are you able to watch BBC1 Scotland HD, normally found on 101? If not can you confirm whether your TV and recorder are both Freeview HD capable (not just HD Ready)?

BBC4 HD is on the COM 7 multiplex which is mainly used by HD channels - see the listing near the top of this page.

My thinking is that equipment that is not truly HD capable may try to record but as it cannot decode the HD data all it does is record a blank screen with no sound. So are you able to record other channels in HD?

Wes.W:

Indeed a retune should resolve any reception difficulties in this instance. That you have several transmitter options available means that you have to be careful to ensure it tunes to the Mendip transmitter if you want HTV West, BBC 1 West, etc.

Whilst you are checking the channels the TV has tuned to, check that the signal strengths aree between 60% and 85%. Either less or more will give you picture breakup and sound problems.
