Alan Pask:

Two posibilities come to mind immediately. One is that the broadcaster changed their schedules (note that this website is independent from any broadcaster and has no influence on them) or that the recorder was set up wrongly.

ADRIAN JOHN WEBB:

To answer you we need the requested full post code. There are several transmitter around the Bristol area and you may be receiving from one of the others rather than Kings Weston Hill.

Geoff:

Then you need to report it to the management of the complex. They are responsible for the aerial system and its maintenance.

michael connor:

Then you have a problem with your systems. If the signals from the satellite for those channels were to fail then everyone in the country using Freesat would also loose them, but there are no such reports. So please check all the coaxial connections from your dish to the TV. You may find that the LNB is failing, hence the loss last week. If tht is the case you need it to be professionally replaced. The other possibility is that both dishes have an obstruction in front of them periodically block its view of the satellites. So check for trees growning in front of the dish or possibly new buildings or scaffolding.

Geoff:

Because it is channels 55 and 56 that are affected shows it is the aerial system at fault, probably still using an aolder aerial that is not suitable for reception of those channels. That is why the Management need to have the system updated to use a wideband aerial.

There was no advice to attenuate your signal, so why try it?

Thomas Salter:

This is not the website to contact True ENtertainment as it is entirely independent of all broadcasters. However, we may be able to advise you if your would provide a full post code so that we can see which transmitters are available to you and the expected reception conditions.

Heathfield (East Sussex, England) transmitter
Saturday 8 December 2018 12:57PM

H Cloutt:

A check on the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Coverage Checker - Detailed View for your location, shows that reception from Heathfield is likely to be variable or poor. It also shows that Dover would be a better option and would give you more channels. Ideally you need a wideband aerial aimed at 282 degrees for Heathfield or at 69 degrees for Dover.

There is no reported fault at the Heathfield transmitter, so I suggest you check all your aerial cables and connections, unplugging all the coaxial plugs/sockets and refitting them to clear any possible corrosion/oxidation from the contact sufaces.

Geoff:

Please would you check the signal strength reported bu your TV set, it's usually on the Manual tuning option but DO NOT RETUNE, and then report them here. We need to see the strengths for all the multiplexes that are available. Ideally you need them to be between 60% and 85%. Any less will give rise to variable signal loss and any higher is likely to overload the tuner.

I suspect the item your read was refering to a signal overload condition and not the issue you have.

Also note that aerial systems sometimes develop faults and being professionally instal;led does not prevent faults developing, either in the distribution system, the cabling or the connections.

Emma :

Please provide a full post code as requested, a partial code is no use to us in finding out the predicted reception conditions at your location. You could be using one of at least three possible transmitters and we need to see which you are likely to be using.

Meanwhile, please check all your aerial cables and connections, unplugging any coaxial plugs/sockets and then refitting them. That will clear any possible corrosion/oxidatiopn from the contacts as that is a known cause of problems such as you report.

Anthony Green:

Please provide a full post code so that we contributors can check the expected reception conditions for you and determine which of the over 1100 transmitters you and neighbours are likely to be using. It is unlikely to be a transmitter fault else there would hundreds or maybe thoufdands of complaints, but there are noe here as yest. With your full post code we can check with Gigital UK for any transmitter problems of engineering work.
