Although Channel 5 from The Wrekin is turned off, I am receiving quite a poor Channel 5 from a different transmitter. As Sutton Coldfield's analogue services are unaffected, I could be receiving Five from the Fenton relay of the SC transmitter. Am also receiving an even poorer BBC1 pic on BBC2's Channel 33. Can only guess and say it's the Lark Stoke relay of the SC transmitter.

Hi Briantist, I know Channel 5 comes from Lichfield and not Sutton Coldfield. What I meant to say was that "Although Channel 5 from The Wrekin is turned off, I am receiving quite a poor Channel 5 from a different transmitter. As Sutton Coldfield's AND LICHFIELD C5 analogue services are unaffected, I could be receiving Five from the Fenton relay of the SC transmitter.

It's funny though how if I am receiving BBC1 from Lark Stoke during the hours of The Wrekin shutdown, you would think I would also get BBC1, ITV1 and Channel 4 from Lark Stoke as well as they are on the same channels as The Wrekin, albeit that BBC1 (ch33) and BBC2 (ch26) are reversed at that transmitter compared to The Wrekin (BBC1 ch26 BBC2 ch33).

Perhaps something to do with the signal beams or interference of other channels on the same frequencies?

Spelling mistake above. Should say: you would think I would also get BBC2, ITV1 and Channel 4 from Lark Stoke

Briantist, I already said I am completely well aware that Channel 5 comes from Lichfield and that BBC1, BBC2, ITV1 and Chanel 4 come from Sutton Coldfield. You do not need to remind me.

Also, when I said I was receiving BBC1 from Lark Stoke during the hours of The Wrekin analogue shutdown, I did obviously mean I was receiving the ANALOGUE signal of BBC1 off Lark Stoke, not the DIGITAL signal off Lark Stoke.
So this comment was not applicable or relevant:

Stuart: Lark Stoke's pre-switchover digital services at at 25W, about the same as single energy-saving bulb. It is amazing that anyone gets Freeview from there at the moment.

Lark Stoke will be a 1.26kW digital transmitter after switchover, that's 50 times more powerful.

I was curious if the information on this website was correct for Freeview services in the Channel Isles: UK DTT Channel List (Freeview/Top Up TV Anytime) to the link, the Channel Islands have no ITV2, ITV2 +1 and ITV1 HD. According to your site, they do.
Who is correct? I'm presuming you are.

I don't understand though why Fremont Point, the Main transmitter for the Channel Islands does not transmit COM4, COM5 and COM6. All other Main transmitters in the UK seem to, why not this one? Is it to do with interference from France? Lack of available frequencies? Are there plans to transmit the others at a later date?

Hope you can answer my queries.
Thanks. (LL115FQ)

Briantist,
My mistake about ITV2 +1. I meant ITV1 +1.
Think you may have misread my question though in part though I do now understand why COM4, 5 and 6 aren't transmitted to the Islands.
What I said is that the link I provided, it does not list ITV2 or ITV1 HD. It also does not list ITV1 +1 either.

So because that link does not list ITV2, ITV1 +1 or ITV1 HD, people whould look at that link and therefore think that those channels are not transmitted to the Channel Islands.

Whereas your website shows those channels are transmitted to the Channel Islands.

So I was just verifying with you as to which website is correct? The website in the link or your website?

I'm not talking about removing ITV1 HD or ITV2, I'm simply saying that there is no listing of these channels (or ITV1 +1) on the website link I provided for you and others to take a look at to ask as to why those channels are not shown whereas they are shown in the list of channels available for the Channel Islands on your website.

Hope that has explained things and you are able to give me a further explanation.
Thanks.

Cube Interactive - local TV bidder

Wrexham

Since the closure of BBC Radio Clwyd, I've always wanted to have a more localised radio or TV channel like this as I don't really want to know about what's happening in the Granada region or in South & West Wales.

Having a news programme just for the town of Wrexham, I would've thought is a bit too much on the small side. Maybe if it took in the counties of Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire which made up Radio Clwyd, that would be a good size area for a local TV news programme.

C63 (810.0MHz) after switchover

Hi.
I found I am receiving a weak analogue Channel 4 signal on UHF ch. 63, but this map doesn't appear to show any analogue Channel 4's in the area.
I thought it would be a relay of Sutton Coldfield, but none of it's relays appear to transmit 4 on 63. Any idea where could it be from?
Thanks.

Considering how soon Digital Switchover in the Central region begins at Nottingham followed by a week later at transmitters such as Ridge Hill and The Wrekin, I'm surprised to see that Page 283 of ITV1 Analogue Teletext still doesn't show the actual DSO dates on it's teletext page.

Is this teletext page ran by the Teletext company, Central or by Digital UK?
Do you know if it will be updated before the first DSO?

Mike Dimmick: Well when I said Central, I did mean ITV Central as in regional news programme ITV Central Tonight or ITV plc. I am very well aware of the ITV merger. I still very much miss the fact that I used to be able to tune into HTV Wales, Granada and Central and find different programmes on each various times of the day and night. And also all the regional news programmes, studios and opening/closing titles were very different from each other but now thanks to ITV plc, those days are now long gone and never to return ever again!

But getting back to my point, when you say that ITV were responsible for some teletext pages, does that as of now still include page 283 of the Analogue teletext?

And do you think they will update it for all regions before Teletext completely comes to an end so that only subtitles page 888 are transmitted and then that page stops transmitting when the analogue signal for that channel switches off for good?
