Rob: I think your neighbour has been very helpful so far so I would ask him if he gets charged for virgin coming out and there is no problem his end he would be very unhappy and might expect you to pay his cost.

Paul Gilbert : if you are on guinea hall lane those trees over the road could be your problem I know that road isn't great for reception if you have different aerials for each point they get lower for each point. First I would check the aerial plug for rust this would show coax damage, second I would move the tv from the aerial that is working to the point that isn't just to check if it is the tv. If you carn't fix it I work over your area.

Steve P: when I am called to rectify another riggers mess what I get of the customer is I have just paid someone else carn't you use what he's fitted and make it better. What I tell them is I won't use anything they have fitted take it all down give it to the customer and fit all my own equipment that way I can give them a guarantee. I tell them befor I start the job if they get me in the first place they save money.

Tony: Like Most businesses there are other overheads, van insurance, public liability insurance, road tax, van servicing, stock, your own wages, so you have to cover overheads and you are allowed to make a profit it isn't against the law. I have been fitting aerials over 25 years and it maby not fully skilled there is a skill to it. I have seen how sparks like to fit aerials they are the worst followed by members of the public. There is a greater risk doing aerials than being a gas fitter working off ladders is dangerous and people won't pay if scaffold is needed.
I work in the northwest that has some of the cheapest aerial fitters in England I wish I could charg £100 for a aerial. By the way what do you do how would you like someone to say you arnt worth what you earn and you should be paid less.
