One for all the riggers out there triax have brought out there new link to use with new sky hd boxes . It has aerial in and rf 1 and rf2 like the old sky hd boxes, there is also an dc input so it can power any compact amplifier attached. This is more expensive then the global I o link but a lot better.

NICK ADSL UK: here in the north west it isn't ,£200 per rig you are lucky to get £69 and people still moan. Stop putting these unrealistic prices around.

NICK ADSL UK: I have just had someone ring me up today asking for a price gave them my prices it was £69 for rx12 to £85 for mrz 20 all I got was oh I'm ringing around for prices so if I charged £200 I would get no work. At my prices I am expensive here what am I to do. People do get what they pay for though. I went to a job today aerial in the loft with 3 splitters on it feeding 4 points none of them worked, I wouldn't mind but there was a 13amp socket next to the aerial all it needed was an amp.

rob: I just have to ask have you had the aerial checked out. I have never heared of interfereance from the next house. If your coax is damaged this could be letting in the interfereance but a good aerial with good coax with sheliding should block it. So call someone out to check what the problem is this website is good for advice but without being at your house no one can give you 100% the answer.

MikeP: that doesn't rule out any problem that having the system checked won't correct , but then again I don't know how to fix a tv I only know about aerials so I stick to advice about aerials.

MikeP: you say his installation does *not* have a problem but reading mist of his post he has a splitter under the floor this can let in interfereance he says he has re made fly leads well after over 20 years of seeing how people try to make there own fly leads this doesn't say there isn't still a problem. In your 50 years experance can you tell me how many times equipment from another house has caused interfereance in another property. The quickest way of testing that no one has said would be to switch off and unplug next doors virgin box and wifi router if the interfereance is still there then it isn't next door and it is in robs house.

jb38: did rob get the neighbor to switch everything off and did this rectify his problem. If it did then it is the neighbor. If the face plate was connected to was connected to the splitter the interfereance can go each way. The other thing it could be is the ring main faulty to this one point that can cause interfereance . Can I ask have you ever been to a customer where the interfereance was coming from something next door other than a radio ham ?

jb38: worse case virgin cone out to the neighbour find nothing wrong and charge him for the call out. The neighbour will want the money back off rob. Rob will still have his problem and will have to call out an aerial rigger to fault find. What he should have done in the first place was called the rigger out to fault find if it was in robs house he would have fixed it, if it was the neighbour house rob could have billed virgin for the riggers cost .

Rob as for the coax plug if you use one with a screw and it isn't fully screwed in it short circuit the plug just better to take the screw out.
