As long as its outside and pointing in the direction of the mast it should be OK, try not to make any joints or connections to the cable if you can, its always best to have one length of cable from the aerial straight to the TV.

call a local aerial fitter and get a new aerial fitted, then you can throw the booster in the bin and you will not have any more problems.

Have you got 2 input cables to the box up stairs? sky plus needs 2 input cables or shotgun cable to run properly , in the signal menu you will see 2 indicators both of those need to be showing locked OK. Tom Fletcher Alpha Aerials Sheffield.

Sky lads will tell you any thing all they want to do is get to there next job, I worked for sky and your always under the cosh, you need to run another cable from the dish to the box,you should have a quad or 4 way LNB fitted to the dish,if you can not do it your self get a local guy to come and do it for you should not cost much.sky plus boxes always seem to act up on single feed cable, seen it before in flats and thing especially when people flick through channels a lot it seems to happen no signal and things like that.Tom Fletcher Alpha Aerials Sheffield.

The aerial must be out side on the highest part of the house, loft aerials are no good for digital reception.

Sorry no there's a bit more to it than that, first of all boosters are no good for digital reception, if the signal is no good from the aerial its no good fitting a booster ,if you want to run more than one TV from one aerial you will need a mast amplifier system fitting, the first thing to look at is your aerial, that is were the signal comes from, if that is not up to the job you are wasting your time and money fitting any type of boosters, get a local aerial guy to come and give you a price for a mast amp system . You need to get someone in who has the proper meters to check things out, then you would know what the fault is ,you could go on for ever messing about with things like that.
