Below are all of Pete's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.FREEVIEW Ch. 47 (DAYSTAR) are broadcasting live events, music and "International Ministry Programs" (the spelling of which is incorrect on the caption - surely this should be "Programmes" ?).
What are "International Ministry Programmes", when they are at home, does anybody know ? Is that Jim de Hacker and Sir Humphrey Pomme-by und Bernhard by any chance ??

Well last Saturday I stayed up late to bid a fond farewell to BBC WORLD SERVICE 648kHz ORFORDNESS broadcasts which ceased with the last elongated Greenwich pip at 12:00 midnight GMT (just before the clocks changed). The last programme was OVER TO YOU, which ironically had many complaints about the 648 switch off. This will leave many people throughout Western Europe & Eastern UK with no datime BBC WS on the move in their cars and deprive many people of the BBC WS who do not have access via the internet. Even in this day and age there are plenty of people who either do not have internet access or who simply do not want it, but DO enjoy portable radio. Shame on the BBC and their now "fragments of the World only" Service which has gone rapidly downhill over the last 5-10 years, both in coverage and range and quality of its programmes as the cuts have bitten.

Very good Sci-fi drama on BBC R4 Extra this week from Tues 3rd May 18:30 by Ken Follet The Destrucion Factor, check it out on i-player if you missed it. He also wrote the excellent EARTHSEARCH (Series 1 & 2).

Fascinating bit of knowledge about the averaging of the ads time, Brian. Thanks for that gem. Does that mean that Ch 4 had over and above the "then" average in "LOST" when OFCOM forced them to change the pattern and timing of the ad breaks (in the days before SKY stole the subsequent remaining LOST seasons and were allowed heaps more ads). The DVDs had none but the programme was just as bewildering I have to say. Did anyone work out the end, it was far worse than THE PRISONER, at least I know who No. 1 is (but that would be telling).
