Tony: The most likely explanations is that you either have a fault or your suffering from interference. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted coverage etc.

carol o'callaghan: You should contact the Freeview Advice Line (see link below) who can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted (free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable). You most likely have an older grouped aerial which is not designed to receive all of the frequencies now in use at Mendip. Also, no one on this website had anything to do with the changes (no one here has any connection with any broadcaster or the transmitter company).

Frederick: The transmitter is definitely not being switched off. Winter Hill is the main transmitter covering much of the North West of England, there would be thousands of complaints if it was. If the problem is happening at the same time every day it is most likely being caused by electrical interference from something operating on a timer (either in your own home or a near neighbour).

LM Cook: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Are you missing any other channels such as Pick (11) or Dave (12) which are both broadcast on the COM5 multiplex alongside True Entertainment?

Angie Carter: You most likely either have a fault with your aerial system, such as a bad connections somewhere. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV and then work your way back as far as you can safely access towards the aerial. If you provide a full postcode we can check which transmitter you should be using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted coverage etc.

GeordieLad: Nothing has happened to them, none of those channels have moved mux and no date has been announced for any mux closures at Sandy Heath. They are still being broadcast on COM7 & COM8 (UHF channels 55 & 56). I'm not sure what you mean about being taken it, loose connections etc are a common cause of problems, particularly when COM7&8 are broadcast at lower power than the main muxes at most transmitters. It's also entirely possible that those muxes are being wiped out by unwanted interference from more distant transmitters (either temporarily due to atmospheric conditions or permanently due to frequency changes are other transmitters).

You can get a full up to date listing of which multiplex is on which UHF channel by putting your postcode into the Digital UK checker (1st like below - tick the detailed view box). There is also a full up to date list of which channels are broadcast on which muxes at the 2nd link.

A: I haven't heard of any TVs that can do that. What make and model do you have?

Keith Stroud: There are no faults showing for the transmitter. Are you missing ITV, Channel 4 or any other channels?
