Upgrading from Sky+HD to Freesat+HD | Freesat

Anthony Lea: Freesat wasn't off air and no one else has reported any problems with reception of any satellite channels. Heavy rain can sometimes attenuate the satellite signal so that there isn't enough reaching your dish, or it could be that that the water has gotten in to the LNB (receiver on the end of the dish arm) or cabling somewhere.

Rita Ford: Have you actually checked that there are no loose or damaged cables or connections either behind your TV or elsewhere in your aerial system, or are you just assuming that it's fine by looking at the aerial from the ground? If it is being caused by interference then you need to track down the cause. Does it happen at the same time each day? If so there's a high likelihood that it's being caused by electrical noise coming from some piece of electrical equipment in your home or somewhere nearby operating on a timer.

terry: It's a huge job for the owner of this website (Briantist) to keep the multiplex/frequency listings up to date for over 1,100 transmitters. I'm sure he will catch up eventually.

David Mansell: The transmitter engineering posts are automated and often do not appear until several hours later. No one is telling you how to use your equipment, although it isn't unreasonable to assume that by posting on an unofficial technical help website that you were seeking assistance to resolve your loss of signal. Loose or damaged cables and connections are a common cause of faults and are an entirely sensible starting point if no information was available at the time of posting regarding engineering work.

Michael Martin: There's a link to the original podcast at the top of the article. Briantist added speech to text capability to this website a while back, there was an article about it in the news section a while back.

Brian Gregory: True Entertainment and True Movies have moved to the local TV mux. If you can receive one of the local TV stations on LCN 7 or 8 then retuning should give you True Entertainment on LCN 48 and True Movies on LCN 50.

All free TV channels in the UK
Thursday 27 June 2019 2:32PM

Gordon Sinclair: Decisions to swap channel numbers (LCNs) around are made by the broadcasters, in order to promote one of more of their channels to a lower channel number. In that instance it was part of an agreement between UKTV and Discovery Networks that LCN 12 would be passed to Discovery when they took full ownership of 3 of the former UKTV channels, necessitating a reshuffle of the remaining UKTV channels on their remaining LCNs. This has nothing to do with Freeview, who are a marketing organisation setup to promote the UK's digital terrestrial TV (DTT) platform.
