N.N Oldfield: You would loose access to the subscription channels, as well as the recording and catchup functions on your Sky+HD box if you cancel your subscription. Do not cancel the direct debit without going through the proper cancellation procedure as that could lead to missed payments being recorded on your credit file. If you have Sky Q and cancel, the box will stop working as it is rented and remains Sky's property and must be returned if you are no longer a subscriber.

Peter: They're a complete con, probably aimed at the American markets were apparently many people don't realise that some of the channels available on cable are also broadcast free to air from terrestrial transmitters. Unfortunately some of the people selling them keep running ads on advertising networks such as the one Briantist uses to insert ads on pages of this site, in order to generate revenue to pay the server costs etc.

John Hughes: The changes to TV Licences have already been pushed back to 1st August. Anyone who currently receives a free TV Licence doesn't need to take any action until then (it could be pushed back further depending on how the situation develops).

John Hughes: That letter would have been printed before the delay was announced on Monday. See this BBC News article at the link below.

Stuart Swaine: If you have a communal aerial system then you need to get in touch with whoever is responsible for maintaining that system and get them to investigate, although that may not be a high priority for them given the current health situation.

John Myddelton: No one on this website is working on the transmitter, this is an independent help website which is not connected with an broadcaster or transmitter company. The BBC are currently reporting that the Ripponden transmitter is off air due to a fault. Do not attempt to retune as this is likely to delete of your channels.

P. Kieran Ward: UHF channels 55 & 56 are in the centre gap of the new 700MHz mobile band and will not be required for 5G use for some time (probably another couple of years) so Ofcom have allocated those channels as the temporary home of COM7 & COM8, which will then close once the mobile networks start to use those centre gap frequencies (rather than being cleared in May like the rest of the 700MHz band). See more info from Ofcom at the link below.
