Chris.SE: I think some transponders which operate on a Europe-wide beam can appear weaker than those which operate on a more tightly focused UK spotbeam due to the signal being spread out over a wider area.

AdamL: The COM7 multiplex licence is due to expire on 30th June 2022 and I haven't seen any announcement about it being extended. I think COM7 being shown to be available until 2025 is probably down to no end of service date having been announced, so I wouldn't suggest spending money on a new aerial to get COM7 when it is due to close in a little over 3 months time.

All free TV channels in the UK

Ruth Kosminsky: Those channels are all on COM7 which is broadcast at a much lower power than the other multiplexes and is due to close by the end of June 2022. Nothing has been announced regarding whether any of those channels will move to other multiplexes or whether they will leave Freeview.

What do you mean by ghosting? Ghosting was something that could occur on analogue TV if the same signal was being received from two different transmitters broadcasting on the same frequency, or from the signal being reflected off buildings, water, or other reflective surfaces causing the picture to be displayed twice. This cannot happen with digital TV as the two signals will cause interference resulting in the TV or box being unable to decode the signal so it isn't possible for two pictures to be displayed over the top of each other. Retuning will not fix a problem caused by interference as you are just deleting the tuning data and searching for the same channels again.

Danny Martin: This isn't Shoreline FM's website and they are unlikely to see your comment here. According to the coverage map on Ofcom's website (see link below) the station only covers a very limited area, West London is much too far away to be able to receive anything. I couldn't find the station's website to see if they have an online stream.

Mark Davis: The owner of the website has been unable to keep up with all of the changes that took place over the last few years as part of the 700MHz clearance programme. There however still a few regular contributors who try to assist people with technical help for reception problems, however nobody apart from the owner of the website can update the transmitter frequency listings.

Ian Davidson: COM7 is broadcast as a single frequency network (SFN) on UHF channel 55 from 25 transmitters (including Darvel) however it is predicted to be weaker at your postcode than the main multiplexes. UHF channel 31 is the local multiplex from Darvel which carries That's Scotland and a handful of other channels, which is predicted to have a stronger signal than COM7 at your postcode so it makes sense that you are receiving the local mux without difficulty.

COM7 is due to close when it's multiplex licence expires on 30th June 2022 so I wouldn't suggest spending too much time, effort or money trying to receive something which will be gone within 3 months.

Chris: Is ITV4 completely missing or do you get an error message? Are you still receiving ITV3 SD, which is broadcast on the same transponder? There haven't been any recent changes to any ITV channels on satellite.
