All free TV channels in the UK

David Whitney: If your TV has a DVB-T tuner then it will be capable of receiving Freeview, which it almost certainly will have if it was manufactured in the last 10 years. If you post the full model number we can check.

keith Ralph: Freeview and Freesat are both very much still going strong. As you have a dish you could get another Freesat box (Humax no longer make them and the only new models on sale are the Freesat 4K boxes made by Arris. If you have an aerial you can plug it in to your TV and assuming it isn't too old to have a DVB-T tuner, carr out a scan for channels.

B Bentley: Nobody blanked your screen out deliberately - why would they when it would cause millions of complaints? It sounds like there was either something interfering with the incoming signal, early signs of a fault, or perhaps you inadvertently pressed something on the remote which blanked out the picture?

All free TV channels in the UK

Alan Small: I answered this on another post recently. The only remaining free to view channels I'm aware of are London Live and the other local TV channels (I think there are only one or two others available on satellite) and 3 out of the 4 STV HD regions (STV West HD is free to air). There may be a couple of +1 channels but there isn't much you'd miss out on by using a Sky box without a viewing card, other than having the correct BBC/ITV/Channel 4 regions.

John Thompson: 5Select is carried on the PSB3 multiplex alongside BBC One HD, which is available from every transmitter, although it is only available on TVs with a DVB-T2 tuner which is required to receive HD channels (many have either the Freeview HD or Freeview Play logo).

Mike: It's originally down to having to accommodate S4C and making it available from every Welsh transmitter. S4C takes E4's space on the PSB2 multiplex, so E4 takes a slot on the COM4 multiplex in Wales only, leaving a slot which is available on COM4 in England/Scotland/Northern Ireland, which for the last few years has been occupied by Great Movies Action (formerly Sony Movies Action) with the broadcaster benefiting from lower costs as they are reaching a few million fewer viewers.

Daka66: You might be able to get a weak signal from Oxford, but there isn't a local mux (GREAT! Movies Classic is broadcast alongside local TV stations) transmitter which is intended to cover your location.

Charmian Carter: Try asking the channel, this isn't their website and nobody here has anything to do with running or broadcasting any channel.

steve P: As Chris mentioned, ITV closed the majority of their SD regions on satellite some time ago after having launched nearly all of their regions in HD on satellite. At a guess, your region is now broadcast in HD only and not having a viewing card had prevented the box updating the channel listing to show an alternative ITV SD region on 103. If you're able to obtain a viewing card from a cancelled subscription (ideally registered to an address in the same area so that you get the correct BBC region) and insert that into your box it should hopefully restore ITV SD on 103 (I don't have a Sky SD box to be able to test this).

Gary Bayliss: If GQN is supposed to be 6QN then there is no DAB coverage predicted at that postcode for any stations, but if you confirm the correct postcode we can check again.
