Shiralee Mowbray: Your previous post said that you had the channel will resume at 1pm message, which indicated that you had the channel correctly tuned. Have you retuned again since then? As per my earlier reply to you, True Christmas starts at 1pm each day on Freeview so it won't work in the mornings. Have you tried the channel after 1pm? If you're still having trouble, please provide a full postcode so we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted signal strength etc. Also, have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

Keith Cunliffe : If you're referring to the new frequency allocations to take effect from Q1 2018, they don't appear to have been published yet for Kidderminster (or for many other smaller transmitters).

Ivor Buckley: Firstly, retuning will never fix a problem with bad signal as the TV was already correctly tuned (retuning just deletes the channels which were already stored and searches for them again). Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind the TV? Please provide a full postcode so we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted signal strength etc.

Winter Hill (Bolton, England) transmitter

gordon holt: Youview boxes are capable of receiving all Freeview HD channels. COM7 (the multiplex which carries BBC 4 HD and BBC News HD) should have excellent reception at your location just 25km from the Winter Hill transmitter. Most likely you are either suffering with signal overload (search for article "Too much of a good thing" on this website) or you have an older group C/D aerial which was designed for receiving frequencies in the higher end of the UHF band (COM7 is broadcast on C31 from Winter Hill which is well below the frequency range a group C/D aerial was designed to receive).

Richard.: The BBC don't have the technical ability to provide BBC 1 regions in HD as the studio equipment and links to/from the central coding and muxing centre (where the signal is assembled into multiplexes to be sent to the transmitters and satellite) needs to be upgraded for each region before they can be made available in HD. The BBC have said that to do this in the same was as they currently do SD broadcasts for each region would amount to around 40% of the regional news budget so they are looking at other, more cost effective ways to make the regions available in HD. Therefore no date has been announced yet for any BBC regions to be available in HD.

Mike: There are no faults or engineering work showing for Caradon Hill. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Do not attempt to retune as this will delete all of your channels before searching for them again, which makes it much more difficult to know when the problem is fixed. Please provide a full postcode so we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted signal strength etc.

Richard Brown: There are HD channels broadcast from every transmitter, however you need a TV or set top box with the Freeview HD logo to be able to receive them (if your TV only says HD Ready or Full HD that only refers to the screen being able to display a HD picture). According to Digital UK's postcode checker, your postcode is served by the Salisbury transmitter, whilst your friends are served by Hannington. Talking Pictures is carried on the COM7 multiplex which is a temporary service, broadcast (along with COM8) from 30 main transmitters (including Hannington, but not Salisbury) and will not be expanding coverage to any further transmitters. However Talking Pictures have recently announced that they will be moving to the COM6 multiplex on 30th November (see link below) which is broadcast from Salisbury.

Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) transmitter

Steve: Film4 +1 is carried on the PSB3 HD multiplex and therefore can only be received on TVs or boxes that support Freeview HD (HD Ready or Full HD is not enough as these only indicate that the TV can display a HD picture, whereas a DVB-T2 tuner is needed to receive any channel on a HD multiplex even if that channel is only in SD).

Helen Mousley: Does your living room TV have 4Music on channel 18? If it does then a retune should be enough for True Christmas to appear on 62.

Alan Hartley-Smith: Retuning will never fix a signal problem as all your TV is doing is deleting all of your channels and searching for them again. You've also made it more difficult to know when the problem is fixed. Are all the TVs connected to the same aerial system or are they in different buildings? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted signal strength etc.
