Below are all of StevensOnln1's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.RM: The transmitter engineering posts on here don't seem to have caught up yet, but the Radio & TV Investigation Service checker is showing a fault affecting HD channels from the Oxford transmitter which lasted for around an hour this evening. Anyone who retuned during the fault may need to retune again to restore the missing channels.

Eric Street: Your postcode should be able to get strong reception of all channels from Winter Hill or Moel y Parc (if you prefer Welsh channels). BBC Four is carried on the same multiplex as BBC1/2 or BBC Four HD is carried on the same multiplex as the QVC HD shopping channels. Are you missing any of those channels?

bruce: There isn't any capacity available to make the additional temporary red button channels available to SD-only receivers (which can't really considered to be the majority of viewers any more). The only space available is on the temporary COM8 multiplex which (along with COM7) is broadcast from 30 transmitters covering around 70% of UK households. SD-only Freeview boxes/TVs haven't been available for a couple of years now and it was reported around the same time that over 50% of viewers has access to HD channels on at least their main TV (that figure will have only increased since).

Paul White: It's highly likely that you're getting interference from other distant transmitters that you would not normally be able to receive, due to the current atmospheric conditions caused by the hot weather. Do not attempt to retune.

Pete Kettell: The Digital UK checker doesn't show any plans for COM8 to be increased from its current 1kW from Beacon Hill. COM7 & COM8 are temporary multiplexes and are expected to close in the next few years. If you put your postcode in to the Digital UK checker (see link below) and tick the detailed view box you will be able to see your predicted coverage for your location.

bruce: You could get a Freeview HD box such as the one linked to below for 35 rather than buying a new TV.

Joyce: ITV3 changed multiplex earlier this year, you will need to retune if you haven't already done so.

Mark Perkins: If it's only happening in the evenings there's a good chance that you're suffering from electrical interference caused by something operating on a timer (e.g. central heating/hot water etc). Also, have you checked for any loose or damaged cables/connections etc?

Myrvin: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? With the current hot weather, some parts of the country are suffering with interference from distant transmitters which are not normally able to be received. Do not attempt to retune.

Julia Wood: Retuning was the worst thing to do as you've now deleted a bunch of channels which were correctly tuned to begin with. The channels you mention have not been removed from any transmitter. Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted coverage etc. Without the information we can only offer generic advice such as to check for any loose or damaged cables and connections behind your TV etc.
