Elizabeth Johnson: The Commercial (COM) channels, which carry ITV3 among other services, are never likely to broadcast from Dog Hill. See here for an explanation:

Londonderry (Northern Ireland) digital TV transmitter | ukfree.tv - 10 years of independent, free digital TV advice

Freesat will give you ITV3 or you may find that reception from Winter Hill or another transmitter that carries the COM channels is possible at your location.

Adrian: If you are using a communal aerial and you are receiving from Saddleworth transmitter then the aerial system may need adjustment for the new D3&4 channel.

Adrian: Some communal systems are fitted with filters so as to only allow through (from the aerial) the channels used by the desired transmitter. Thus, as D3&4 now uses C39 which hasn't been used before it may now be filtered out.

Could you change to using another transmitter such as Winter Hill?

Might your issue be interference from Moel-y-Parc, which is the transmitter in Wales that overspills to a large area of the North West?

Adrian: If you are attempting to tune to Winter Hill then obviously your aerial may require turning as well as switching it from vertical polarisation to horizontal polarisation.

The PSB channels of Moel-y-Parc and Saddleworth are the same, albeit that they use opposite polarisation.

Dave Lindsay: In fact, all six channels are the same from both transmitters, albeit that Moel-y-Parc's COMs are half power to its PSBs.

Lisa Jones: If you use a communal aerial system then it may need adjustment so as to provide the services you identify as now lost.

Adrian: Yes.

For Saddleworth it should be vertical and for Winter Hill it should be horizontal:

Tom Linson: Your postcode resolves to what appears to be a block of flats which makes me think you might be using a communal aerial system.

Communal aerial systems sometimes contain filters that only allow through the frequencies used by the designated transmitter. Should this be the case, the system will need adjustment to allow the previously unused channels through.

Irrespective of what the issue with the aerial system is, it can only be fixed by notifying the party responsible so it can get an engineer to look at it.
